I wrote about our trip to the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas last year, but things are changing rapidly there.
The Baha Mar resort has since opened a water park and starting on December 20th it will have a full time kosher Asian-Latin fusion restaurant, Cinko Asian Latino Grill.
The glatt kosher restaurant will be under the supervision of Chabad of the Bahamas. Kosher food will be available with in-room dining throughout the Baha Mar resort. You do not need to stay at Baha Mar to eat at the restaurant.
The Baha Mar is a Hyatt category 5 property, costing 20K points per night. Starting on 10/26 for stays starting 3/1/22, rates will range between 17K-23K points per night.
Will this tempt you to book (or book away from) the Baha Mar?

It’s too bad I really wanted to go
Wonder if Globalists will be able to get free breakfast here. Also wonder if prices will be reasonable at all. Now we just need this at the Ziva and Zilara resorts!
Kosher food
Every thing.. not so kosher
Maybe they’ll have separate hours ♂️
What are the covid restrictions to get in to the country there? Is it Shabbos friendly? Minyan?
Will it be overpriced like everything else in the Bahamas?
Yes.
@Josh is correct. Everything is so expensive on the island including taxis. The ride from the airport to Bahia Mar is about 10 minutes but probably $40. If you want to go to The Atlantis, that is $80 each way by taxi. Instead of the Bahamas, you can go to the JW Marriott Turnberry in Aventura, FL for much less, be in the US, and that includes their water park and water slides.
But is there a kosher restaurant on site?
Tully, a few dozen restaurant options within a 15 minute drive
Tully, can you name a few? I’m planning a trip there shortly.
Thanks
Sorry, I meant the question for Dave.
Have they reopened their lounge?
are there daily minyanim there?
Forget the kosher restaurant, just give me a daf yomi shiur and a vasikin minyan, and I will be there.
You should really check out rabbi Stefansky’s shiur. You can listen/watch anywhere and still feel as if your sitting at the shiur.
The lounge has been downgraded since hotel opened. It was one of my favs but downgrades in drinks and food before covid I have no plans to go back. They cater to Instagram and high rollers only
Better get out there before the restaurant goes treif or closes their doors. I give it less than 1 year.
You were wrong.
Has anybody been there since it opened?
