Why are NYers booking this? It’s not like it’s a nice a hotel in Manhattan. It’s just a decent Brooklyn hotel.

Dan- what are your thoughts? which one is a better option- the prepaid rate with the 1k point bonus but nonrefundable, or the refundable on booking.com, but you dont get any status/ stay credit?

They didn’t fix the price, it’s an inventory issue.

You sucked up all of the inventory, so the price went up from 49 to 79.
If you cancel it will go back into inventory and others can book at $49 again. The $49 keeps coming and going as others are probably cancelling.

What can be so exciting to go to a mediocre hotel in Brooklyn. Its amazing how people grab anything that is free!!!!

i stayed there 1 night

why do we all need to go to the hotel? lets all just meet up in shomer shakos in boro park instead…….my point is that a random sheraton isn’t a major vacation. the point is to get away for a night with the wife or family etc. if you meet all your friends and neighbors you might as well stay home in your comfortable bed and shmooze with them at home..

I just booked the kitchens with the Sheraton for that night.

I used to work at Sheraton Brooklyn, I just spoke to my friend there.

The GM of the hotel just spoke to the staff, and said the going rate was $39.11

Apparently there were 136 unique reservations at the rate, out of 321 rooms.

seemed like Most people didnt get $39.11 once factoring in club rooms, etc. but perhaps thats the wrong perception. Was anything else interesting said?
