Update: DEAD! Don’t miss it if this becomes alive again. Sign up for deal notification alerts here!
Update: Spending for this offer has to be completed by 12/31. Hyatt is already giving out the free night from this promotion.
You can close your card before then and apply to earn 50K points with the Chase World of Hyatt card.
Originally posted on 10/28:
If you have the legacy Hyatt card pictured above you can register here to get a free category 1-4 night for spending $4,000 on the card from 10/27-12/31.
Registration closes 11/30.
This offer isn’t valid for the newer World of Hyatt card which always has elite status and free night spending benefits.
You can view sample valid category 1-4 hotels here.
A category 4 hotel normally costs 15K points, so this is like getting at least 19K points for $4,000 in spending if you use the free night in a category 4 hotel!
The free night will be valid for 1 year from the date of issuance.
As I posted yesterday, don’t forget to check for additional spending offers as well! If you max the $3,000 in spending on Amazon and spend $1,000 elsewhere you will earn 16,000 Hyatt points and a free night certificate worth up to 15,000 points. That’s an effective 7.75 points per dollar spent!
Will you use your legacy Hyatt card for this offer?

I’d rather spend $4K on the Sapphire to get 80K points. Downgraded all existing Sapphires. Applying soon. Wish me luck!
¿Por qué no los dos?
Oh wow never knew where that was from. It’s by my most used GIF.
😀
Got this: “We’re Sorry. You are ineligible for this offer.”
(Yes, I do have the new card).
Oh, I see now “This offer isn’t valid for the newer World of Hyatt card”. I thought it was the opposite.
I do 🙂
And I open it because of you Dan….
Yes why wouldn’t I
The chase Hyatt spending offer on amazon or grocery is $1500 not $3000
$1,500/month x 2 months=$3,000
Thanks Dan! Got it on my card. Planning on getting a diamond soon so I’ll be able to split payment and meet this offer.
make sure it’s in the rough. Mazel Tov

wow, great deal. thanks for posting.
This is incredibly misleading:
“Note that legacy cards will be automatically converted into World of Hyatt cards on 1/11/21 with no bonus. You can close your card before then and apply to earn 50K points with the Chase World of Hyatt card.”
Even if your card is converted, you can still cancel your WoH card and then re-apply to get the sign up bonus. You should not cancel your card before the annual fee is charged. Then, after the next certificate is deposited, cancel your card. Chase doesn’t not have lifetime language, that’s only Amex.
Here is the eligibility language for a Hyatt credit card sign up bonus: “The [bonus] is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Hyatt Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months.”
While technically that’s true, practically speaking it will be much harder to do recon on a card that you just closed. So I stand by my advice.
Why would you need to do a recon? Canceling a card should free up credit that Chase can allocate to the new card. Just don’t move the credit line to a diff card.
Dunno about you, but I never get a Chase approval any more without recon.
How long do I have to wait from closing the old card and before opening the new one.
3 days should be fine.
Will I lose my anniversary night of I close my old card and apply for the new one?
No.
My free night didn’t arrive yet from this promo. I would like to cancel my card today. If I cancel, will they still deposit the free night?
I didn’t receive my free night yet either. Hoping it comes soon so I know it worked. Saw in my chase account that my card was automatically upgraded to the new card… which I don’t feel is worth the extra $20 for pretty much the same benefits. I just paid the $75 annual fee in Dec so hopefully Im good with the fee until next Dec, which I will probably cancel then.
