The Hyatt Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest opened earlier this year as a Hyatt category 2 property as part of the Hyatt Unbound Collection and has great reviews.

It’s an absurd bargain with points. For example checking a random date, the cost with tax is $477 or 8,000 points, which imputes a value of 5.96 cents per point:

You can also use 13K points to redeem an Art Collection or Heritage Collection suite, though you’ll need to call to do that.

Plus World Of Hyatt Credit Cardholders can get a 10% points rebate.

The hotel will jump all the way to a category 5 tomorrow at 11am ET, but you can book now for travel over the next 13 months to lock in the current rates. You can cancel for free up to 2 days in advance of your stay on most dates, but always check the rate rules before booking.

You won’t be able to change dates after the category changes, though you should be able to cancel extra dates off of a reservation if you need to.

Category 5 hotels cost 20K points per night or 32K points in a suite.

You can read more about kosher restaurants and what to do in the Budapest Master Thread on DDF.

You can earn Hyatt points with the Chase World of Hyatt credit card.

You can also instantly transfer points to Hyatt from Chase Ultimate Rewards cards like Chase Sapphire Preferred® CardSapphire Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred to Hyatt. You can also rack up Chase points on the Ink Cash CardInk Unlimited CardFreedom Card, and Freedom Unlimited Card.  Read more about maximizing Chase card spending here.

Will you book a stay at the Hyatt Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest before 11am ET tomorrow?

Just booked for october! Thanks so much, looking forward

Is there tax on a award stay? Or is it just the 8,000 points?

not important

Do NOT stay here over Shaboss or Yom Tov!!!

Although both ways into the hotel has manual doors and 2 staircases (you will need to stick your hand behind the glass from the left side to lower the handle to open the door (or use your electronic key).

Take note the room is a tremendous problem!! 1- when you open or close the door (yes even with putting something so the tongue doesnt go into the hole) you will activate/deactivate the a/c, could be in the winter the heating.

2- Worse yet is the sensor is on the ceiling unless you are 16 feet tall you cant reach it, once you move a few feet from the bed you will Activate a sensor that will light a light close by the floor, you cant deactivate these lights and there are 2 on both sides of the bed/s. Theres a mirror in the bathroom that you will need to stick somewhere since it will turn on as it too has a sensor. 3- there are lights in the closest that cant be shut so either no usage of the closest over Shabbos or you will have to leave the door open and light the room

There is absolutely no way for the sensor to be turned off, however they can turn off the ac to the room but you will sweat if its hot out, no way would they cover the sensor on the ceiling. No problem sending someone up to open the door for you and walk in the room far enough to activate all the sensors but the floor lights dont stay on long and theres no way you wont end up activating them, unless you never enter the bedroom part of the room

All that said a nice hotel and beautiful at that, just no way would I stay there over another Shabbos, its < 15 mins to the main Orthodox shul and Hanna or Carmel restaurants, with a Metro 3 station in front (closed on weekends as they work on the system).

Just know the area in the shule area is now a very massive bar/restaurant scene especially ri night, it used to be a dead place w/o seeing anyone on the streets there

Sam

@dan are you certain that one can remove an extra day from reservation and not have them charge the new rates?

Miles

1015 ET, price already up to 8000 points.
