-The current list is valid for stays through 4/30/18.
-Hotels can sell out of discounted rooms quickly and only a limited amount of rooms are available per night.
You can book up to 2 reservations per hotel. There’s no limit to how long each of the stays can be.
IHG PointBreaks now cost 5K, 10K, or 15K points per night, depending on the hotel.
You can get 65K points for signing up for the Chase IHG credit card, adding an additional user, and spending $1,000 in 3 months. You can view credit card offers by hovering over the “Credit Cards” tab. You can then view “Limited time credit card offers,” “Hotel Credit Cards,“ or you can choose to view “credit cards from all banks.“
The IHG card is not subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule and it comes with an annual certificate good for a free stay in any IHG hotel. Those are best utilized at Intercontinental hotels where a night can set you back 70K points or $800/night in places like Bora Bora. The card is free for the first year and then $49/year. If you have a credit card you’ll also get Platinum status and 10% of your points back on all award reservations!
IHG normally sells 5,000 points for $67.50 or 1.35 cents per point, but you can buy 45.5K points for $299 with the current sale and 50% bonus, which is just 0.657 cents per point!
If those points don’t post instantly you can call IHG to get a points loan based on your purchase confirmation number in order to quickly grab a room. Alternatively you can transfer 5,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to IHG, though transfers are not instant and it’s a terrible use of Ultimate Rewards points
If you already have IHG points in your account then you can buy points on the cheap via making a cash and points booking. Be sure to click on the rules during the checkout process to make sure that the room is fully refundable (almost all are).
For example The Candlewood Suites Secaucus allows you to redeem 10K points and $89 for a night. If you cancel that night you’ll get back 25K total points, so you’ll have effectively purchased 15K points for $89. That 0.593 cents per point.
Where can you stay for 5K-15K (4.5K-13.5K for IHG cardholders) points?

Just came back from a 4 night stay at the Crown Plaza Jerusalem. Paid 80k points thanx to the last IHG signup bonus. Out of pocket $0. Hotel is quite decent especially בחנם .
Im going to be staying there in March. Was breakfast included?
Hey, would you be able to please clarify what you mean by “The IHG card is not subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule” Does that mean that if i have had the card, and closed it recently, i can reapply right away?
yes and you may be able to ask them ti reopen it without having to do a hard pull but you wont get the bonus ,24 months? is it from the time you recieved the bonus or from when you opend the card or closed the card what are chases rules about bonuses/
Yes, that was my real question. Do you get the bonus if you sign up within 2 years or is it only after?
Pitiful. The new PointsBreaks list sucks most of what little remaining value was left value in IHG after the recent mega-devaluation. I cannot wish them well.
dan it smells like your somewhere exciting and on a vacation any way to share where? or is it private and non of my/our business?
any hotels next to the london jewish community ever go on pb?
Another good deal bites the dust. Though they have been consistently lowering the quality of hotels available the last number of years, now it is basically dead. Almost nothing at 5k and nothing special at 10k, some of the 15k go regularly for $80.
Also they have put a lot of restrictions (limiting availability at top hotels)on the once a year free night.
Goodbye IHG
are there any IHG hotels in israel?
I think people saying this is a devaluation missed the point. The devaluation was 3 years ago. They just didn’t make it official. There hasn’t been a decent hotel on the points break list in at least 3 Years. That was the devaluation. Just like AA and their saver award space. This is actually an improvement. Is it an improvement from 5-6 years ago? of course not. But definitely an improvement over the last 2-3 years.
The Indigo in Newark, NJ is alternative to staying in Jersey City and Manhattan. Rates there average $149/night. It is a 3 block walk to Penn Station, where you catch PATH, Amtrak and NJ Transit trains. If you have corporate code I have seen this hotel for as low as $99/night, which is real money saver.
