Hyatt continues to offer big rebates on award stays and huge benefits to members during the pandemic, but where are the other chains?
Marriott’s award pricing has been using standard and peak pricing, despite sustained hotel occupancy being lower than ever before.
In October, Marriott priced all hotel rooms at off-peak rates if you booked for a close-in stay.
Marriott is back with that offer, though 10% of their hotels have opted out of offering off-peak rates.
If you book awards by 12/14 for travel through 2/28, you can get off-peak pricing at most hotels
It’s a good offer, but I wish the booking window was longer. Quite frankly, all hotels worldwide ought to be off-peak for the foreseeable future.
Here is what Marriott off-peak awards cost:

For example:
- Marriott’s Villas at Doral in Miami has 2 bedroom villas with a full kitchen as their base room. Guests can also take the free hotel shuttle to the Trump Doral next door, with access to all Trump Doral amenities and pools. As a category 5 hotel on Pointsaver special, they were previously charging 37.5K points/night in January, which made it ineligible for Marriott credit card nights that cap out at 35K points. Now they have rooms at Pointsaver off-peak rate of 27.5K points per night or just 22K points/night with a 5 night stay!
- The Habtoor Grand Resort Dubai, which features a full kosher menu, was previously charging 60K points/night in January as a category 6 hotel, is now 40K points/night or 32K points/night with a 5 night stay!
- The Al Maha Dubai Resort, which has villas with private pools as their base room, all meals included and 2 daily desert activates include, was previously charging 100K points/night in January as a category 8 hotel, is now 70K points/night or 56K points/night with a 5 night stay!
- The JW Marriott Turnberry Resort in Aventura, FL, which features a full waterpark included with hotel stays, was previously charging 60K points/night in January as a category 6 hotel, is now 40K points/night or 32K points/night with a 5 night stay!

I have the Marriot Bonvoy Amex and the annual fee was just charged this past month, but the free night only gets deposited in January. I called and they said they can’t deposit it sooner than that.
Any way around this?
If I already have something on hold for January how do I get the rate without cancelling?
Why not cancel and rebook?
Has anyone reviewed the kosher menu at Habtoor?
Here ya go:

Does the also maha resort also have kosher food? Wasn’t there some announcement about all hotels offering kosher food?
No, but you can order kosher food to be delivered:

St Regis Maldives opted out of the offer?
Seems so.
St regis bal harbour is 70k per night
That’s what I wrote
any way to get the resort fees waved. for a stay at st regis bora bora 4 nights. 560k points plus between $3600 to $8000 in fees
That’s not a resort fee, that’s an upgrade fee to a better room.
Use the flex award calendar to find dates with base room awards.
thanks
whats marriots award cancelation policy
Varies by hotel, check what it is during booking.
Thank you just booked my yearly St Regis Bal Harbor Vacation. a little bit more (10k) than i paid the past 2 years but last year i was thinking that old prices are gone forever, and look were we are.. pricing without booking a year earlier.. and this year who even thought that will be able to book. יש מנהיג לבירה
I have two 35k free nights on my Amex bonvoy. Am I able to use it and put another 5k or 25k toward the hotel stays? Or it needs to be a hotel that is 35k or less?
Thanks.
No, it’s 1 night for 35K or less.
Thanks Dan! Any recommendations in NY, Connecticut or local? Even for a Shabbat for two nights? Would hate to see them go to waste. Especially that I am paying the annual fee might as well get something good.
They’re going to be extended.

Depends What you call upgraded. In my experience they’ll give you higher floor but was never able to get upgraded to a Suite
Any Marriott resorts with indoor pools open now near Tri State Area?
so if i ahve an old certificante from the ritz carlton credit card that used to be bookable for all categoreis and then got downgraded to a cap of 60k points i can book into a category 7 if I book between 12/14 for travel through 2/28,
Correct.
Does anyone know if there’s a minyan on Shabbos near the miami villa at doral. Willing to walk am hour
There is nothing remotely close. There is a Chabad in Doral but I don’t think they have a minyan. There might be enough people there during Yeshiva week but someone would need to coordinate it and everyone would need to agree to attend. I would assume if you walked an hour you might have issues with the techum.

I’m trying to find something for Jan 31 and all the dates are high. Any tips?
Is there any way to know what other properties have a standard room that book into a 2BR unit or something similar that will easily provide lodging for 2 adults and 4 kids with privacy for the parents? I run into this struggle regularly!
Look for other “Villas”
Anyone know what the St Regis Bal Harbour after 12/14 is going up to for the rest of December?
If you book two nights can you cancel 1 of the two and still keep the other at the discounted rate?
No, book them as separate reservations.
