Update 6/30: Today is the final day for new sales, though some packages from previous days are still available.
The Hyatt points sale for $396, $660, and $960 packages goes live at 1pm today. With just 24 packages for sale, you’ll need to be lightning fast to nab one of them.
Did you buy any packages this year?

Daily Getaways is coming back starting next week, but is it worth buying anything?
- On 6/12 you can buy IHG points for 0.5 cents each. That could potentially be worthwhile, except that IHG frequently has the same offer directly, so there’s no reason to lock that in unless you have immediate travel plans.
- On 6/13 you can buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents each. Hilton runs this sale themselves several times per year including right now, so there’s no need to lock in now. Plus you can always transfer points from AMEX to Hilton at a 1:2 or better ratio.
- On 6/14 you can buy SeaWorld tickets and more for 40% off. That could be a decent deal if you plan on visiting this summer, though their Black Friday sale offers better pricing.
- On 6/15 you can buy Accor/Fairmont certificates, but the quantities are extremely limited, with only 14 available between 4 different offers, these are sure to sell out instantly. Note that these aren’t only valid at the listed properties, I’ll try to write more about these before they go on sale. But it’ll take a miracle to get one of these.
- On 6/16 you can buy Marriott gift cards for 20% off. This is probably the best deal of the bunch, but we’ve also posted Marriott directly sell their gift cards for 10-20% off in the past.
- On 6/19 you can buy Choice Privileges Points for 0.52-0.6 cents each. That’s a decent price if you need them, but it’s worth noting you can always transfer points from Citi to Choice at a 1:2 ratio if you don’t want to lock in on buying points now.
- On 6/20 you can buy 3 nights in a Venetian or Palazzo suite, but the price on these has gone up significantly from previous Daily Getaways, now at $1,150-$1,250 for 3 nights. There’s also only 15 of each package available. Note that you can do significantly better with the Black Friday sale.
- On 6/21 you can buy discounted OMNI hotel stays. Rates seems attractive, but there will only be 15-41 packages available per offer.
- On 6/22 you can buy Wyndham points for 1.17 cents each. Wyndham often sells points for less than this directly, so that’s not a deal. And you can always transfer points from Citi or Capital One to Wyndham at a 1:1 ratio.
- On 6/23 you can buy Best Western points for 0.55 cents each if that’s your thing.
- On 6/26 you can buy hotel, dining, spa, and show packages from MGM Las Vegas for $750-$2,000, but only 5, 6, or 7 of each package will be available.
- On 6/27 you can buy discounted Universal Hollywood or Orlando tickets, but there are just 85 Hollywood ticket packages, 40 Orlando ticket packages, 4 vacation packages, and 4 VIP packages available.
- On 6/28 Caesars vacation packages in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, SoCal, and the Great Smoky Mountains will be for sale, but just 5-10 of each package will be available.
- On 6/29 you can buy hotel, dining, spa, and show packages from Bellagio, Aria, or Park MGM, but only 4-7 of each package will be available.
- On 6/30 you can buy Hyatt points for 1.2-1.32 cents each. That’s a solid deal, but there are just 24 total packages for sale across 3 sales. You can always transfer points from Chase to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
I miss the days when they had enough packages for sale to have a fighting shot at them instead of it becoming a sweepstakes…
If you do want anything, you’ll need to be waiting on the sale page at 12:59pm ET, keep refreshing the page, and be ready to click buy now when it appears.
Will you try to get any Daily Getaways this year?

I’ve been getting good uses off of choice hotels points. Not the best hotels but decent with just one or two nights stay and not spending much time in the hotels.

There are definitely some good deals at Choice hotels if you’re a very frequent traveller. They pop up everywhere. I just used Choice points for about a 75% discount in the Czech Republic. It’s definitely worth having some points available if you are a frequent traveler. These days, though, you could also just have a Citi balance that you can transfer the points from. For most folks, if they don’t have a specific property in mind, it’s not worth buying the points just to keep around for “someday.”
Less number of points packages this year, right? IHG sold out fast today. IIRC, previous years the leftovers hung on the “Last Chance Offers” page till the end.
They sell you points or a stay in form of a points stay?
