About Silvercar:
Silvercar is a new-age car rental company. Since I first wrote about Silvercar I’ve received lots of rave reviews from readers thanking me for introducing them to Silvercar. Share your experience in the comments!
I rented from them in Miami on a 2 day trip in the summer, and unlike the weather, the car rental was a real treat. I called them upon landing and they picked me up from the terminal so that I was able to avoid taking the train to them. After the rental they dropped me off in my rental car right back to the terminal.
They now rent the Audi A4 and the Q5 SUV. Unfortunately the Q5 only seats 5 people, I do wish that they offered a larger car for families.
Cars come with built-in GPS, satellite radio, bluetooth, leather seats, and even a free WiFi hotspot. Unlimited miles are included in every rental.
You can even request car seats at no additional charge!
You can rent from Silvercar as long as you are at least 22 years old with no underage fees.
I rented a car from Avis in Miami and got hit with a $17.20 bill for a two 70 cent tolls that I apparently passed on SR112. That’s $1.40 for the tolls and $15.80 for an “eToll Convenience Fee.” Convenient for whom is the question?
Silvercar only passes on the toll itself, no convenience fees!
If you don’t refill the fuel you’ll only be charged a $5 flat rate fee on top of the actual local price of the gas needed to fill up the car. No need to jeopardize missing your flight just to avoid paying $10/gallon for fuel.
Both AMEX and Chase cover the CDW insurance for a Audi A4 or Q5, just select personal coverage when renting and write the name of your credit card bank.
You only pay when you pickup the car, nothing is charged beforehand and there are no cancellation fees ever.

How much I should the underage fee?
Read the post.
Does cc insurance cover the q5? And do the first time renter promo expire if I sign up now but don’t know when will use it?
Yes.
Won’t expire.
Thanks dan. I rented from them in the past and they asked me how I heard about them so i told them dansdeals. They told me that most of their customers are from dansdeals.
Quick question does sapphire reserve cover collision insurance on the Q5 SUV or only on the A4?
Thank you
LOL!
I’ve confirmed with Chase and AMEX that they will cover the Q5.
But they arent open 24 hours
They’ll stay open if your flight is delayed.
Im landing @ 1 am in LAX
Thanks Dan! Use them wvery month. They are great! Pick you up and drop you off is a huge plus also.
If if rented from them several years ago, are these deals available still?
Everything in the post is labeled whether it’s good for new and/or existing users.
Thanks Dan! Saved $100 over a traditional rental agency for a reservation this weekend!
Awesome!
Hey Dan –
A bit off topic to silvercar in particular, but regarding car rentals generally. My wife and I are hoping to plan a summer trip out west that would involve renting a car but dropping off in a different location. Likely something like Colorado – Seattle. The extra fee for different location dropoff is substantial. Any codes or car companies you recommend for avoiding this fee?
Thanks!
Why no JFK or LGA?
Dan,
I’m a bit confused when you say put the bank of your card does that mean if I’m using Amex I should write Amex?
Of course.
So to confirm I put in personal coverage and then write American Express right?
the 40 off code for WEEKly wont work at FLL. does it automatically apply the 30 off code?
Are you renting for 5+ days by 3/31?
Weekly worked for me at fll just make sure it’s 5 days plus
Hey Dan! Thanks for all you do. As a first time renter, can I combine the $50 off offer with the 30% from my CSR?
“Promo codes (Limit of one promo code per rental)”
Thanks! I didn’t know if the 30% is considered a promo code – it applied automatically when I clicked the link from the UR site. Thanks for responding!
does silver car allow one way rental (like rent in Mco and return in Fll)
YES charge a 50 fee u need to call after you make reservation and they will update for you
I need a car for 2 and half weeks but website doesn’t allow reservations for more than 2 weeks
Break up the rental? If you have 2 drivers you can come out ahead thanks to the new renter rebate.
Make a 2 week rental and call them to extend it?
Recently rented in Phoenix and had a good experience, except for the gas charge at the end. We opted to have them fill for the $5 flat fee, but they charged us ~$1 per gallon more than prevailing rates. We sent them a GasBuddy screenshot of the rental area for premium gas and got them to knock it down to the average rate we found. Moral: always check the gas charge!
I do not own a C.C. and have a terrible credit score (555). Is it possible to rent with a debit card or cash, and bypass a credit check?
TFW – when you become the hat tip 🙂 Just one more caveat – you can actually book a rental that ends 4/3/18 with the ‘WEEKLY’ code. I tried to change my Passover reservation with them, but they wouldn’t let me apply it, even partially. Not worth doing it as two rentals and returning/re-picking up halfway through.
My price for 5 days at FLL is $529.87 with code WEEKLY its $345.64 how did you get to $275.53 for the Q5?
Price varies by location and dates.
” As a new renter you’ll also get $25 back after the rental” is that only with signing up through your link Dan?
Yes.
My flight is scheduled to land in Orlando at 11:45pm is it still recommended to rent from Silver Car (they officially accommodate landings till 11:59 pm)
I had the same question they said that when I enter my fight number by my reservation they see it and they are in top of it, I wonder what’s gonna happen when I arrive midnight
I just spoke to them and they told me that at Mia I still have to take the tram to the rental car center and meet them across the street anyone know how to get them to pick you up from the terminal without having to take the tram?
Yes when you arrive just give them a calll and ask them if they can possibly pick you up. I did this and told them I’m a first time renter and don’t know how to get to the rental location. Unless their extremely busy they are usually very accommodating and will come get you.
I just order a Q5 for a pick up in LAX for 5 days next week. Total 282! Amazing Thanks Dan for all that you do for Klal Yisroel
how do i request a car seat? do i do that when i get to the location?
Does the vinfinite code work with chase sapphire proffered or only on chase reserve
Thanks Dan! I saved over $200 over a regular rental and get a nicer car for that deal.
Can I use both the 40% off and the $50 discount? I only see a place to put in one promo code.
