How is it cheaper with AMEX?
If I were to buy the Chairmans Status, is there any way to “keep it” after July 2012 by earning it somehow?
Do these benefits work in the Avis in Israel?
i think the franchise in Israel doesn’t play by the same rules as most other Avis locations
Does this rental day price include all taxes?
@jerry:
10% will come off at checkout.
@HSS:
Doubtful, as you can’t earn Chairman status. It’s invite only.
@Henry:
Only an upgraded car (from full size to a Mercedes for example has been reported) and free pickup from T3 instead of having to go to that horrible new far-flung rental car facility.
@g f:
It includes tax, but excludes any airport facility fees.
@ Dan
that’s better than I thought. good to know
got it 🙂
I took 7 of the one day vouchers.
I got one!! whooooo
can u use lets say two coupons for a two day rental?
Anyone score on the Chairmans club?
Is it worth it?
@???:
Yes.
@deltacptn:
Depends how often you rent!
max 7 or if i can buy more using two diff creditcards
I just picked up 2 of them. The first I got right away, the second time I tried to buy it for my partner, it said “this is already in someones cart”. I kept on retrying until it allowed me to buy it! Ok, so lets figure this out; There was 12 available to start, I got 3 and 4 between us DD readers, wonder if the anyone else out there will get a chance.
@Also a Hertz Platinum:
Enjoy Avis Chairman!
It’s by far one of the best elite statuses out there, I love renting with it!
@Dan
I have had Chairman in the past, but then it really wasnt as good as it became now. I personally think the Hertz Plat service made Avis pick up their game big time with the Chairmans. I fly into Charlotte quite often 😉 and I used to waste over an hour EVERY trip between shuttle back and forth and waiting in lines to get car, to get out of lot as well as lines to return car and waiting for shuttle ETC. Hertz Plat has been the moshiach to my car rental troubles ever since, I arrive in CLT with a Hertz agent holding a “Hertz Platinum” sign with my name on it with my car waiting 12 feet away with all my paperwork complete and ready to move. The best part; the agent the takes the shuttle back to the station. LOL. I get upgraded EVERY single time to great cars (usually with nav) and when I return, I just waive the plat contract panflet and a guy jumps in my car and drives me to the terminal.
Anyways, Chairmans will probably do the same as my Plat, but now I have double the options and I do believe Avis has better rates.
@Also a Hertz Platinum:
It depends on the station, but Chairman will do all that and more these days.
And the rates at Avis are definitely better.
Usually I get a CTS or G37, thought I’ve heard Hertz may have better card than that though.
For me a big benefit is that they will drop off and pickup a car from the airport to my home 25 miles away.
And the market price on gas is great-don’t have to spend time refilling.
how do you determine which locations are “participating” locations?
The one thing that is obviously something that Hertz has the real edge over Avis is their fleet of cars. While renting with Hertz I have driven the following vehicles….
Infiniti M37
Infiniti QX56
Corvette
Escalade Hybrid (yes, Hybrid!)
Buick Enclave
Camaro SS
Mercedes E-Class
BMW 5series
and even the Hertz cars that are not significant are not the typical stripped down rental cars. IE; Toyota Sienna with Leather and DVD, basic cars come with leather and sunroof. I believe Hertz is the only one that actually does that.
Am I worth anything at all now that you say Chairman is worth so much more than years ago, did President Club move anywhere on the vip level? Also,, If I would get Chairman, I would be able to get Hertz Platinum club with a status match, no?
Both deals are dead
is the Chairman availeble also in nyc area ?
and how much do i pay for the rental per day when you say i am getting the coolest car in there lot ??
please advise
@juda:
Yes, the benefits apply in NY, but Chairman is sold out already!
I got one of the 12 chairmans club…..can I do a status match to Hertz?
@deltacptn:
Not that I know of, but if you find a way let us know!
When they say these certificates are not valid in the “NY area”, does that include Newark Airport? Or can I rent with them at EWR?
I’m willing to sell my Avis Chairmans for $2,000 if anyone is interested.
anyone interested in buying my chairman satus for $1400? i’m willoing to sell it
How do I claim my 5 free days in a luxury car?
@payne:
It’s a certificate that should come along with the Chairman package.
@deltacptn: I’m interested in buying your chairman status is it still available?
@yanky: I’m interested in buying your chairman status is it still available?
