I have Executive Elite status from National, which is really easy to obtain. Their customer service is also light years better than Avis or Hertz.
With Executive Elite status, you earn 1 free rental day for every 5 paid rentals. Those free rentals can be worth their weight in gold. They are valid for any size car and are even good for one-way trips.
Last year, I used 5 free rental days for a full size SUV in Bozeman, MT that would have cost nearly $2,000. We were even able to change the return to Jackson, WY with no additional fees.
I noticed that I had 1 reward day expiring at the end of the month, so I direct messaged @NationalCares on X and asked if they could extend it.

Sure enough, they were happy to do so:

I have 2 $100 vouchers from Southwest set to expire at the end of the year. I simply called them and they said they really expire 6 months after the expiration date, and that I can extend them for another 6 months after that!
Are there any restrictions on when a free day voucher can be used, or what vehicle it can be used for?
In theory, could I rent a vehicle locally for 5 days at $50/day just to get a voucher to use for 1 day rental of a vehicle that is $450/day?
