Don’t put in your Wizard # just use the AWD it will bring up the deal, then you can go back to step 1, add your awd and the deal will remain.

Just be careful because most credit card insurance (for collision) does not cover SUV rentals!

@Chanie: if you use amex to pay your rental u can establish an per rental insurance with amex for $20.00 per rental u have to set it up inadvance with amex and then its authmatic this insurence covers larger vans which are not covered by reg.credit cards ins. u may ask amex if it also covers suv’s i assume that yes

@Chanie: I am using the Avis deal with the American airlines miles, did several rentals during the last few weeks, i have also 3 Amex Platinum cards which in the case of rentals becomes the primary insurance cover , and my own car insurance and i still purchase the car rental insurance, no need to file a claim on my insurance in case of—-, and they give you hassle on scratches , dents etc, with their insurance i just drop the car and go

This AWD comes up at $376 for intermediate SUV (JFK) for a Thursday-Thursday rental in October. I’d like to take advantage of these deals but so far the car rental posts don’t work for me, including the American points and United points links a while back. Any assistance would be welcome.

@yoss: read the T&C you don’t have to be.
@Yanks: usually they don’t ask for a card. If they do almost always the welcome letter will suffice. With hertz sometimes you need to apply to their atm card which is free to receive, just need to put like $20 in the account. Although I’ve never heard that with Avis.

@jj100: I applied for USSA, printed out welcome latter showed at LGA they wont except it, they say they need hard copy from the USAA card, they charged me $210 for under age and basic weekly rate total $899 for the same reservation originally $185!!!!! They told me that if I’ll bring card when drop off they change rate. Help???!!!!

had reservation for today since I’m 25 didn’t need usaa so I just used chabad when I arrived they told me that I need proof that I’m in chabad so before you go try to get a letter from chabad does any 1 know where could get pls?

I piked up at LGA today and they asked for USAA card, the way they asked, I assumed they thought I didn’t have one….

was today in jfk with usaa didn’t get it because didn’t have membership card I gave them the letter from usaa but didn’t help

Went to pick up today from LGA but they wouldn’t give me the quoted rate unless I showed them my Chabad ID or paystubs. There were another 2 frum guys there the same time as me having the same problem. I left before I thought to ask if a letter on company letterhead stating that I work for Chabad would help. Anyway I had a reservation at Budget around the corner too for the same price but they didn’t have any decent SUV’s and wouldn’t upgrade me so I asked for a car instead. They gave me a Kia Optima, I’m currently on the way to the midwest! Its driving beautifuly and I’m getting an average of 31mpg.

Brought a letterhead with me, but didn’t need it…
