The bean counters running the Amtrak loyalty program never cease to amaze me.
A couple years ago they had a great transfer offer with United that allowed you to transfer United miles into any other airline miles.
It was eliminated without any prior warning.
Just 1 week ago I reported that Amtrak slashed the incredible Choice transfer option from 1:5 to 1:3 without any prior warning.
Today, without any prior warning, Amtrak took away the ability to transfer to Choice. It merely says that it is “temporarily unavailable.” The exchange rate is no longer even listed. Given the underhanded way in which the Amtrak program is run, it wouldn’t surprise me if it will never even make a return at all…

If you have points that you transferred from continental to amtrak, can you transfer them back to continental?!
