Little confused. Do I have to fly first and then after the flight good for the following flights companion is free. Or can I buy a ticket for may 22 and in that flight have a companion free with me? Thank you

What is the easiest way to figure out the cheapest cities from NYC? I’ll make a pesach/winter vacation out of that city just to get the companion pass.
Will a no-show count?
Probably ATL or BNA. Should be able to get $115 round-trip with reasonably short time between arrival and return flight. If you want to actually make a vacation out of it instead of a turnaround mileage run, you’re probably better off spending a few bucks more for a city you’d actually enjoy visiting, like MCO or MDW or HOU.
I’m in ATL right now and there’s plenty to do here
