Delta sent me an email about an award sale if you have a Delta credit card like the Delta Gold, Delta Platinum, Delta Reserve, or Delta Business AMEX. However the sale appears to work even if you don’t have a credit card!
Although the email lists just 11 specific routes, it actually appears to work in coach from any US city to any European city!
It also works from any US city to London in business class.
After testing on numerous cities, the pattern appears to be:
-Coach flights from the Eastern and Central time zones to Europe are 42K miles round-trip.
-Coach flights from the Mountain and Pacific time zones to Europe are 48K miles round-trip.
-Business flights from the Eastern and Central time zones to London are 87K miles round-trip.
-Business flights from the Mountain and Pacific time zones to London are 100K miles round-trip.
Rules:
-Book by February 18, 2016
-Travel on select dates between March 4, 2016 and May 31, 2016.
-7 day minimum stay requirement.
-Round-trip required.
Note that it won’t work for most dates, so use Delta’s flexible 5 week calendar to help find valid dates. Availability seems to be best in April.
You can transfer points instantly from cards like The Amex EveryDay Preferred Card or The Amex EveryDay Card.
The Preferred card awards 1.5 points per dollar everywhere, 3 points per dollar on Uber and gas, and 4.5 points per dollar on groceries if you make 30 transactions per month.
The EveryDay card awards 1.2 points per dollar everywhere and 2.4 points per dollar on Uber and groceries if you make 20 transactions per month.
You can alsotransfer points from consumer cards like the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card and The Platinum Card® from American Express, and from business cards like the AMEX Business Gold Rewards Charge Card or The Business Platinum Card.

I presume one way on sale too?
@Dan: Seems ther’s a seven day minimum requirement
I think I saw some days where SEA to LHR is 90k miles round-trip in business instead of 100k… non stop no less. Too bad I’m already booked on BA to LHR this June on that greatest fare deal of the year last year.
Thanks Dan! Pesach from April 20 thru may 1 51000 plus 188.16 thought will be 42k but also reasonable!
Is 1.5 hours long enough to connect in LHR. Delta to BA?
@luckyluck:
No.
@emak:
Yup.
@tjp74:
What days are 90?
@Oscar:
NYC-LHR?
Showing 42K for me, be sure to sort by “price”
@Elchay:
Are you rechecking bags?
Does delta consider Israel to be in Europe?
Probably. But i guess I could try and avoid it. Would be trying to go lhr-krk on BA. Only flight they have that day
@Shaya: genius. Dan knows everyone wants to go to Israel. obviously if it was within the sale Dan would have posted Israel included in bold.
Trying jfk to mxp 4/20-5/1 but it comes out at 112k. Am I missing something?
@T:
“Note that it won’t work for most dates, so use Delta’s flexible 5 week calendar to help find valid dates.”
4/19-5/3 works.
@T: Not every date is on sale. Use the “5 week calendar” to find dates
are you showing the miles + taxes and fees or just miles?
Will there be sales with Amex points to go nonstop to Israel. 9/26/16-10/31/16?????????? I’m looking for a good deal.
Does DL allow multi city?
Will it work to book Virgin Atlantic flights as well?
No it is not enough. LHR is a tough airport to navigate.
nyc-vie no one date available
@dans fan
i checked too, nothing.
for me the best way i flew there was NYC-TXL-VIE : 24.5k Avios + around 75$ tax with Air Berlin
