Can we have a AI transcript posted here for those who don’t have patience/time to watch the whole thing and want to skim it to see if there any new details?

Ephraim

On Spotify they show chapters and have the transcripts posted that you can scroll through

OD

yes please make them under 30 minutes

Moe

Do 1.5 speed.

fjdo

I actually wish it was longer! Love every minute of it!

Eli

Great podcast. Just one point if you end up booking on Alaska with Alaska mileage number you can call in to American and then they’ll switch it to you your American mileage number so you can still get all the benefits as if you’re flying American! Thanks, Dan and Josh for this. This is amazing and Alaska miles have saved me thousands of dollars.

Roy

Thanks Dan and JJ for a great podcast! @dan and @jj since you briefly mentioned it towards the end (might be worth an entire episode (: ) what do you think is the best way to book flights to Israel these days? And what are your predictions on prices/miles as more airlines return? El-Al just announced more US routes today, but their prices have just gone wild over the years. Thanks!

M.

As someone who doesn’t rack up a lot of spending on a credit card, just about $3000/4000 a month.

Not a lot of travel, 2 times a year West Coast to East Coast, 5 in the family.

Don’t currently have a chase with an annual fee… Just use chase points for cash back.

Is it really worthwhile for me to get an Alaska card and a Chase Sapphire card to earn these free flights,?

I can’t keep track of every trick and hack….

Is this credit card game really for me?

Shmuel K

Yes it is.

Tuna beigel

@dan when do you think the transfer option will go away
And how many Amex points should I move there
With concern for devaluation ??

Dan

Probably later this year.

That depends on how many you think you can use before they may be devalued…

Trying to listen

Can you pls post your podcasts on Zing?

Tuna beigel

Just checked Alaska and tried adding the other passenger but could not change the frequent flyer to American both on the web and mobile, seems like the hack is patched.

sam

you have to contact American t switch the number

od

I thought the podcast said there is a way to enter the AA number online without calling them

Miami Rabbi

B”H

Can i transfer Amex delta points to Hawai Air or Alaska? Thanks

Dan

There’s no such thing as AMEX Delta points.

If you’re referring to Delta Skymiles, those can’t be transferred.

Fjdo

Absolutely love these!! So informative!!!
Can you please post the link for episode 2?

Dan

Links at the end of this post 🙂

Abe

I never understand why Dan and many other people consider JetBlue to be an inferior and second rate Airline compared to the Legacy carriers. I mostly fly jetblue, but I also sometimes fly American, United and Delta as needed. JetBlue is consistently and without question the much better airline in every single aspect.
1. They have significantly wider seats with a lot more legroom than the other carriers.
2. They have screens by every seat on all planes, a large chunk of the big 3 planes don’t.
3. Their planes tend to be newer and more modern compared to legacy carriers.
4. They have free wifi on all flights for all passengers, no other airline has this perk.
5. Tickets are fully refundable and changeable until time of departure.
6. They are usually much cheaper than legacy carriers and if I’m using their miles, I usually get the same route for 35-50% cheaper than the big 3.
All in all jetBlue is a fantastic airline with great pricing and I really don’t know why it gets so much hate on here and in general.

chesed

I very much disagree @abe. I travel frequently & wholeheartedly agree with Dan & JJ. Jetblue used to be awesome and the last number of years, they have gone down the tubes. They no longer have more legroom, have frequent delays, nickel & dime as if they’re spirit, and customer service is nearly non-existent.

i wonder

love the podcast keep it up! Very compelling content, though as all sells in 2025 it can use some more in engaging cocomelon style segments like clips, music etc. incorporated to keep it alive throughout the podcast. So as far as content goes I’d give it five stars, very informative and interesting. As far as the hosts – five stars again you guys are very articulate and keep it very light. But it can still become boring after a while it becomes monotonous so all in all I’d rate it 4 stars.

Can you do an article/podcast on 1) which of the BIG3/Alaska frequent flyer scheme makes top tier alliance status (OW emerald, *A Gold, STE+) easiest to achieve? 2) when does it make sense/not make sense to put big $ through an airline credit card to earn status (e.g., with AA) instead of putting it through a higher earning points or CB card?
