Two men in Ukraine who had never had a bris decided to get a bris today in Zvi’s honor. They both adopted the Jewish name Zvi as their own as well.

His body was recovered early Sunday morning, and his family has been notified.

We learned today of the shocking news that Rabbi Zvi Kogan, the Chabad Shliach to Abu Dhabi has been missing since Thursday. Israel’s security services suspect that Iranian agents followed him and that he has been kidnapped, or worse. Mossad and the UAE are investigating and are treating it as an act of terror.
Rabbi Kogan has been based in Abu Dhabi since the Abraham Accords in 2020.
This comes nearly 16 years to the date from when Rabbi Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg, Chabad Shluchim to Mumbai, were murdered by Islamic terrorists. Rabbi Kogan’s wife is the niece of Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, HY”D.
Rabbi Kogan’s brother is a longtime member of the DDF family. He shared with us how his brother dedicates his life to helping Am Yisroel and asks that we have bitachon, there should be tehilim said, and tzedaka given as a zechus for Zvi Hakohen ben Ettel.

BDE. I’ll add Dubai next to my list of Paris of places I will never visit again. It’s a turn-off to read reviews of Jews visiting France.
Why? It has nothing to do with Dubai. Iran sent Uzbek agents to the UAE, and they could do that in any country in the world.
It has EVERYTHING to do with Dubai. At the time of me posting, there hasn’t yet been a formal response from the UAE government. Parallel to France, which continues to throw Israel and Jews under the bus (most recently blocking arms shipments to Israel), we will likely learn that the UAE isn’t really our friend when the pot is near the flame. Sadly, Jews are attacked everywhere in the world, but responses matter. Action matters- of which UAE and France are among the worst in the world.
We are all looking out for Dubai’s response….and judge accordingly.

+1. I have not visited Paris/France since 23 years ago and will never do so again and find it abhorrent ever time I read any someone who did. I was in Dubai less than 3 years ago and it was amazing was planning to visit again some time, however this horrific act has completely halted that plan. May we be zoche to the coming of Moshiach very soon!
So, are you not visiting all others cities in the US that have had anti semitic casualties? Like what happened in California last year? And Detroit that they still deny that it was antisemitic?? This is happening all over America and the authorities response is a joke!

In the US (as a whole) I feel a sense of comfort and safety because of our democratic and fair justice system. If I get attacked in Europe or UAE, their government can spin it and say it’s the “Jewish man’s” fault- prison for 10 years through a biased trial. Detroit (or, the suburbs) has an incredible Frum community. I wouldn’t shy away from Detroit, but I wouldn’t exactly wave an Israeli flag on a university campus. If it ends up being that Miami Beach and Israel are the only safe places- so be it.
