9 Israelis were detained in Istanbul and 3 were arrested after taking an Pegasus Airlines flight there.
The Times of Israel writes,
“According to the sister of one of the detained men — identified as David Shsoshkov, 30, from the southern town of Sderot — he and his friends filmed the attendant and were laughing at her as she gave the preflight demonstration. The attendant asked him to delete the film, which he did, the sister Natali told Ynet. “They assumed that everything was okay. But it was not.”
The Jerusalem Post writes that the flight attendant claimed that she was sexually harassed by the Israelis. However, the Israelis claimed that they were the ones harassed on the plane and that the flight attendant didn’t like Israelis.
Of the 9 Israelis questioned, 6 were released, while the Israeli that took the recording and 2 Israeli Bedouins were transferred to a remote prison near the Syrian border.
Video recording can escalate volatile situations, but it can also be crucial to prove a case, as it was with last year’s Lufthansa fiasco. In general, it’s best not to record people in foreign countries unless you have to, and in that case, use techniques to hide the fact that you’re recording. It’s also good to learn how to recover photos and videos that you may be forced to delete from your phone, those typically can be recovered from folders for deleted files for a short period of time.
Hundreds of Israelis and Jews pass through Istanbul daily without incident and as the Chabad Shliach to Istanbul points out, you can get kosher food in Istanbul’s airport from a vending machine, or in the Priority Pass or Turkish Airlines lounges. On the other hand, if you’re flying through Miami…

My thoughts are as bad as America has become, I’m still glad I live in America.
#Proud
You are thinking correct.
Although America today is full of woke ideas, even at times ideas that mimic סדום, you still must remember it’s a מדינה של חסד; Although we are deep
in Galoos, nevertheless we should be and are grateful to the country many of us live in!
@Yanky and @Yechiel Z – Ok, and I wish America only the best, but it’s pretty clear to anyone with eyes that America has started it’s decline, and is going in a terrible direction that I just don’t think it can recover from.
Specifically for Yids – your kids, or your kids’ kids will disappear as jews if they remain in America. Time of Geula B”H is coming closer and closer, and jews left outside Eretz Yisrael will not have a part in it. Make preparations for your next generation/s to move to E”Y, or risk them being a lost generation.
Who are you letting in to Geula?
Dan, you missed the Israelis that jumped out of the Jet Bridge yesterday!

That doesn’t need a PSA. Can’t write about every moron out there. 😐
That’s exactly what I was thinking! Those morons need a write up!
Kosher food or not, I couldn’t even get entry into the MIA Turkish Lounge with my CSR PP.
Great comparison to the MIA lounge. I haven’t found a lounge with less Kosher food than there.
need news roundup?
5000 flights delays erev July 4 etc.
I will share with you my experience which I had witnessed personally on a Ryan Air flight from Cyprus to TLV a few weeks ago.
There was a young flight attendant giving the pre flight instructions making all the motions with the hand.
I was sitting next to 2 Israelis and across the aisle there was another 3, all were from the same group and young, but their faces screamed out that they used drugs, especially the ladies among them.
The entire time during presentation they were laughing from her, yes they did made jokes quietly from her appearance pretending she didn’t hear or see them laughing from her.
I really had רחמנות on her, she looked new at her job and still getting instructions from her supervisor.
I am a frequent traveler and that week alone I had 6 flights and never witnessed such a thing as far as I remember.
When I read this article, it right away came to my mind my experience.
Did the Israelis did anything illegal? No. But does anyone here wanna go through such a humiliation?
BTW they were very nice to me, although I looked Chasidish, we had very good conversations. One of them even knew a heimeshe yiddish.
So before complaining on the flight attendant, we need to hear the whole story.
Agree that we don’t have the full story, but still worth knowing that video recording outside of the US can land you in trouble.
To me it looks like the issue was not with the video rather the “harassment” and the lesson should be dont be a prick, and to the guy that is happy to live in America wonder if he knows the harassment laws here
Dan, it’s worth noting that ANYTHING outside the US can land you in trouble! For some reason people feel entitled, when you are in other countries you should know that you have basically NO RIGHTS, there’s no 1st amendment no 4th amendment abroad!
I know that people don’t change attitudes so fast, but please be humble and don’t fight back ever, even with words! You don’t know foreign law!
Why is it a good idea to film everyone?
In the US filming is protected by the 1st amendment.
It’s a right of free press.
