david

Crazy wait time

On hold for long time.

waiting for rep

on the phone waiting for a rep for more than 10 mins already

Anyone get thru?

on hold now for over 45 mins waiting for a representative to answer the phone. anyone else get thru?

steve

On hold so far for 53 mins

Dani

Why is everyone going crazy for this? 7500 miles is what, $10? Maybe slightly more or less.

Dan

@Dani:
Your math is way off.

Al

On hold for one hour. What a poorly executed promotion. But, what do you expect from Cadillac?

alec

on hold for 60 mins.

AA!

@Dani: Easily $100+

EJB

You don’t think they will send a 1099 for this at the listed “retail value”, right?

so sad

what a chillul hashem

Ed

Did anyone ever get through? Been on hold for 37 minutes.

Sola

After being on hold for an hour and 10 minutes, I got through. She took my name, address, email, phone, AAdvantage number, which dealership and which car I’d like to test drive. When scheduling a time, she said I’m one of the first to call, so there’s a lot of availability.

Al

After 75 minutes, registered!

Don

I’m on hold for over a hour already

reb jo

Is there minimum age to take a test drive? How does insunrance work?

Joseph

I used the gethuman call back number and they called me back and i am currently registering for the promotion now – http://gethuman.com/call-back/Cadillac/

Yaakov

This will also extend all of the miles in your account for another 18 months. Worthwhile for many people.

bob

are you all still on hold?

I got thru

@Anyone get thru?:

After 1 hr 10 min wait I finally spoke with someone.

Mark

Do I need to actually do the test drive to get the miles?

Ed

After waiting for an hour finally got through and registered. They called me back and said the car I was interested in wasn’t available at my local dealer for a test drive. Unfortunately I couldn’t answer the phone so they left a message for me to call back – just a name but no extension 866-790-5600. Tried calling back but the name didn’t ring a bell anywhere so I need to call again!! On hold for 9 minutes and counting. Also tried the get human site but am still waiting for that too.

Petecus

Seriously guys, I’m all for free/cheap miles, but doesn’t seem to make sense to spend more than an hour on the phone for this. I would at least wait until the mile junkies’ activity dies down to call and also avoid the negative surprises, like Ed mentioned.

Mohammad M

Is OnStar subscription required?

Any email

Nothing other than calling? What about dealer directly?

drew

Entertaining to watch people sit on hold and get aggravated over this. Dan is always the man!!

Steven

@so sad:
Agreed
If someone actually goes through with this with no REAL intention of purchasing one, they’re stealing they’re time. Total aveirah. Hopefully no one would.

Matza

Do you people have jobs? An hour on the phone plus at least another dealing with a car salesman? You realize that their is an economic value to your time, right?

Gary

In total, it took 2 1/2 hours to set up an appointment, which I have for tomorrow (San Diego County). I, along with others, have been told the AAdvantage number was invalid(though a call to AAdvantage confirmed its legitimacy). I will bring the e-mail document as well as the proof of driving when/if the bonus is denied…

Randall

@so sad, @Steven: You have it 100% backwards. If you are already planning on buying a Cadillac then taking AA points to test drive a car you were already going to buy is like stealing.

They’re running this promotion to get people who would otherwise have no interest in a Cadillac to come in to their showroom and familiarize themselves better with their cars. They’ll sell a small percentage of the test drivers a car this time around, they know that, it’s all factored into this promotion.

Robert

Go to Cadillac.com and click on “contact us.” There is a chat option and they are able to help out with this. A local dealership is going to give me a call to set up a time, which will hopefully save 60+ minutes on the phone.

Jason

Worked for me.. I have no clue how you figure this stuff out, but thanks – Awesome!

@Steven

I’m not Jewish, I’m a Seventh-Day Adventist and keep the Sabbath holy and observe the commandments. However, I think you misinterpret the offer. This is a form of advertising they engage in. They offer enticements to expose you to their product with the understanding that not everyone will buy. You are not accepting the 7,500 miles in exchange for buying a vehicle. You are accepting them in exchange for your time to be exposed to their product. Might it influence you 5 years later to get a Cadillac? Perhaps.

JC

Guys, I drive a bmw and my wife a mazda. I once got an offer for $50 gc to test drive a mazda. When I went to the front desk, a salesman was called to sign a paper. He said to me…”you’re not really interested in the car are you? Look at what you’re driving” I said, that is correct…he just signed the paper and that was it. They don’t want to waste time, they’re not the ones giving out the GCs, it’s mazda corp.

mommafrica

@Joseph Your option does work but only if you use “Lucy” which is on there at the bottom where it says “powered by GetHuman or Lucy.”

Smart @$$ guy

Sounds like a lot of effort for 7,500 miles, plus its a total sham on your part for going on a test drive for a car you aren’t buying. Wasting the salesman’s time and possibly money right out of his pocket for a sale he missed being out with you, a person not interested in buying.

chaz

looking forward to some quality time with my shiny rims, leather heated seats, and the ride in front of me glancing in his mirror and seeing a big bad black escalade!

chaim

shavua tov dan,
how many AA miles will get me a RT in the US?

D93

@chaim: I’m not Dan, but 25k

Waited on the phone about 45 min on Weds 10-15 (had it on speaker while I was doing other things so didn’t really mind). Test drove a 2015 Cadillac CTS V Supercharged coupe. Had a roaring 500HP and only 500 of these were produced. Also drove the new 2015 ATS coupe. Drove really well and might consider it when shopping for my next car.
After I drove the cars I mentioned the AA promotion to the salesman and he had a slight drop in interest (not surprised) but still helped process miles request with the dealership… overall I had a great experience. Now waiting for my 7,500 miles. Thanks Dan! 🙂

Sola

I did my test drive last week. The salesman said there was nothing for me to do, and they would process the promotion. I just checked my AA account and the 7500 miles already posted!
