Signup For USPS Informed Delivery And See Your Mail Via Email Before It Arrives
I’ve been meaning to write about this for some time, but I’m reminded how useful this service is whenever I’m on the road.
When you signup for informed delivery, USPS will send you an email in the morning with a copy of all of the mail you will receive later that day. There is no charge for the service.
It’s great to see what is arriving while you’re away and it’s also good to know if your postal carrier is actually delivering the mail that you should be receiving…or if someone else is pilfering it.

Every time I have tried it says my zip code is eligible initially, only to have it later say that it is not eligible (Brooklyn). 🙁
Same by me
Also in the NYC area? I can double check the zip code eligibility for you.
@roadbird There are many reasons why the ID registration doesn’t go through. Technically most of the NYC Metro area ZIP codes have been eligible for many months.
What’s your ZIP if you don’t mind to share?
Yes! Using it since days after it got available in my area, it is useful and sometimes exciting…
I Love it. One of the best ideas. Doesnt work everywhere
Not working for my zip code
Would you mind sharing your metro area?
11223 says eligible but when I try signing up it says not eligible
Not all the mail shows in the email. Some are left out not sure why
Only 10 images of the letter-sized mail pieces are included in the email. The rest should be available on the dashboard at informeddelivery.usps.com
Or when you click on the “missing a mail piece” link in the email.
Just signed up. This is fantastic. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Anyone in Brooklyn who is eligible for this?
Same thing. Shows zip code eligible, but then when I enter my address is says not eligible.
Yes. E17th street
Does it pull my credit to verify?
No.
USPS is scanning everybody’s mail anyway…all this does is set it up so you get a summary of it. There’s literally no reason not to sign up.
I just signed up. I noticed I can’t see scans of mail that came in today and the last week, although usps.com gives me an option to view it online. Is that because I just signed up now?
Thanks Dan. Did not realize this was available for USPS. Love all the carrier notice options with USPS, UPS My Choice, & Fedex Delivery Manager.
I Live in Brooklyn and have been getting this, I would say close to a year. You don’t get every peice of mail literally. It’s not 100 percent accurate, but still is a very good tool.
11219 not eligible
Yay, spam email to precede all my spam snail mail. Spam heaven!
If it says your zip code isn’t eligible and you know it is, login to your account first and look for the option.
I use this service now for a few months and I like it a lot, for the reasons stated in the post.
It works
