I think that’s the basic premise of 6 months free.
It means that is only free for 6 months and not more then that.
You can also cancel it after 6 months if you don’t want to keep the membership otherwise you will pay for it as it’s only 6 months for free.

Here’s a tip: assuming you get signed up correctly, immediately cancel your subscription. It will run through the free trial period and then end without charging your card.
