Why would you schlep out to a Newark airport cheap “$30” hotel for 1 night, even if it’s free.
Is there something nice there that you are familiar with,that I might not know about?
P.S. When will you present the post showing the difference between The AMEX Starwood card and the Hilton, and should I take the Hilton offer that they sent me, offering me the regular 20,000 points, plus another 30,000 for spending just 1,500 in the first 6 months.
Also, instead of paying my annual fee to amex for the starwood card next month, can I ask them to convert me to the Hilton card offer which has no annual fee (This way, I don’t have a cancelled card on my credit report).

i just did it and orbitz didnt have it come up for $37… does that mean its gone
Orbitz now has it for $47 so I guess the deal is dead…thanks though.
I’m still seeing $37 at Orbitz for the HoJo Newark.
Howard Johnson in Suffern NY (which is right next to monsey) orbitz.com has it listed for $89 and hojo.com is listed for $99

I agree with Moshe. I could understand driving out to Newark to stay in a nice Hilton for free, but why would anyone want to drive out to Newark to stay for free in a dreck Howard Johnson hotel
which amex that has no annuel fee is best? is it the blue?
Now I know what out of towners mean when they say NY-ers only think of NY…
Maybe some pp are flying out to Newark, and need a layover..(ie like flying from somewhere else in the US and then onto Israel or vice versa….

I did this deal last time it was going on. At the time I booked a whole bunch of sat nights. I went the first time and the place was a dump…That was the last time I went.
