Staples and Office Depot stores are offering to make a free copy and laminate your COVID vaccine card in store.
For Office Depot you can present this coupon for that free service. Staples will offer it with no coupon required.
The stores will make and laminate a copy of your vaccine card that you can travel with, while leaving your original card unlaminated in a safe place at home.
With more countries opening up to travelers with a vaccination card, will you get vaccinated?

any Staple GCs on sale?
They say it might not be a good idea to laminate the card because you might need a booster at some point… and you it wonāt be able to written down.
Read the post?
Why always the sassy attitude? Politely say the post says they make a copy.
Is asking someone if they read the post sassy or just practical?
He obviously misread it. I did too. As did other commenters below. Saying āread the post?ā is likely not going to change things the second time around. āThey make a copyā is a reply with 2 more letters.
I have made 1,596 “Read the post” comments over the years with nary a complaint.
Hopefully most people take it as a lesson in how to fish, which accomplishes more than just handing someone a fish.
But if you want to get offended at the offer instead, that’s your right.
Touche
Have you been keeping track of how many times youāve said it?
Backend search engine š
Surprised its only 1,596 times.
Also no need for anyone to get offended, this is what you do, many times providing exact details and instructions, so if people want to be lazy and skim the post, they deserve a ‘Read the post’ reply…
At a certain point, if you have to say it so many times on a given post, maybe it was moare about your writing ability and less about their reading ability. We all can work on ourselves :)…not just the readers
Your awesome
+1 Dan
Ha! That’s great! I propose a automatic ‘Read the post?’ comment. Now that’s sassy
Best NOT to laminate because hard to remove cover later when adding additional doses to the card
(Yes – we’ll probably need more shots in few months!)

That makes 1,597 times….
lol
This actually came before Dan wrote 1,596…

“The stores will make and laminate a copy of your vaccine card that you can travel with, while leaving your original card unlaminated in a safe place at home.”
the claims are unfounded bec none of this is an actual law. so people are just making stuff up as they go along. they use the fact that staples and home depot are laminating these as thats proof of it being ok.
If I get the vaccine itās only because I want to travel
Did anyone read the post? They laminate a COPY for you to carry with you.
You’re a good reader Ariella!
So 64% of poll respondents did not have Covid ? I guess they donāt live in heimishe Brooklyn communities
Who knew there was a world outside of Brooklyn and they even know about DansDeals!
š
Missouri Farm Boy here…
Brooklyn here and did not have covid. My wife had it me not
Great shalom bayis
Makes it 50%…
In my area probably under 20-25% didnāt have it yet (3 waves IINM). Didnāt know itās so high out there.
hey i’m from boro park brooklyn and did not have it yet
You know for sure? You were tested? Either way whoever missed the first big wave and second smaller wave has a very high chance of not getting it, because it was going around the Frum neighborhoods much slower than anywhere else at that point. Seems more likely to get transmitted from person to person than in a crowded gathering such as a Shul.
Never had it live in Monsey and been exposed every day since the start
waiting to see if vaccine proof will be approved overseas [besides iceland]
Israel is starting their reopening today for people with proof of recovery or vaccination.
Several other countries are planning to reopen for vaccinated travelers as well.
Its been a long day and a long week. So what if no one is reading that the lamination is a copy of the original . It takes 100+ times to begin to understand Gemorah
Exactly. Staples was laminating the original cards, so it makes sense to think this was the same thing. The word ācopyā implies that they were laminating your ācopyā of the vacccination card.
Just curious …. If we think Original is not needed and a laminated copy is enough than why just take a picture and travel around? Can just show the image ? How will it be different than a laminated card ?
well i think for the ny one you just need to upload a picture to your qr pass on your phone.
Just curious ā¦. If we think Original is not needed and a laminated copy is enough than why not just take a picture and travel around? Can we not just show the image ? How will it be different than a laminated card ?
I got mine laminated at Staples 2 weeks ago, and they didn’t copy it, they laminated the original, so now if there are booster shots, I don’t know what to do (I’m sure I won’t be the only one)
Can they mot give a fresh card and copy the information ? It is just a paper. I am sure people will lose these. There was no mention of keeping it safe. Only advise I got was to take a picture from the nurse.
You’ll get a new card. Probably half the people will lose or damage their cards. It’s literally a piece of paper which is why it’s so easy to fake and because of that it’s not considered good enough proof for travel.
Do you know where your original social security card is? If not you csn get another copy. Same with this I’m sure.
so your saying the place were you recieved your vax kept records in a database. you can call a specific number and theyll be able to check and see if you got the shot and mail you out another card?
ive seen no evidence of the above existing.
Information is reported to your state health department. New York State has the Excelsior Pass .
Important note: do not get it laminated until you get the 2nd dose!!
Regarding the poll, I got vaccinated solely so I can go and visit my parents in Israel
I got vaccinated to keep myself and those who I spent time with safe.
If it also opens up travel opportunities, that’s great! I haven’t traveled since 2019 and I’d love to go somewhere again. But that’s not why I got vaccinated.
You can still test positive for covid and transmit covid with this shot, that really isn’t a vaccine. Just happened to a nurse from US who was fully vaccinated and tested positive in Mexico, so had to stay an additional 14 days.
Who said copies will be accepted? I can imagine arriving in TLV and being told this is no good???
For TLV, they just want a PDF of it in advance in order to get entry permission.
This is not worth why? I was told I have to wait few days . Drop today and pick up 3 days later. Same excuse by Office Depot. Unless you buy something I think they okay the delay game. They will do it within 3 hours if you pay.
My wife and flew to Bogota last week but at the airport they only want to see your covid test results and not our vax cards. Hopefully, they go to a vax passport as the timing of the covid tests can be dicey. (96 hours b4 flight) Flew down on Delta with middle seats blocked.
Staples wonāt make you a copy , you have to provide
Not that the poll is scientific or anything, but as an exercise, if you take the difference between the 69% have or will get the vaccine, and 13% undecided….
That’s the difference between COVID-19 being a scourge for years to come, (although manageable for people with resources and good healthcare), or if all undecided break towards getting the vaccine, putting COVID-19 on the path to elimination.
Just came out of Staples, where my actual card was laminated. They said they copies aren’t part of it, just laminate… Lol
Office Max just told me the same thing, but I showed them that the coupon said they would make a copy and laminate it, and so they did that.
Cool, maybe I’ll stop by there and get a copy as well.
just put in plexiglass
I just took a picture of mine and threw it away. If I ever actually need it I’ll figure something out. I can’t imagine this little piece of paper will be the gold standard to prove vaccination status.
Can’t believe hundreds of readers are selfish enough to determine they will not get this. We have a chance to be rid of this thing. We’d still be putting folks in iron lungs if people were this selfish/bought into conspiracy theories in the Polio days.
Off topic… Did you happen to vote for Biden?
Nope (I can see why you thought that cause I used the term “folks”). Voted for the other guy. But I’d vote Potato Kugel over Lukshen anytime š
Conspiracy theories like rare and dangerous blood clots.
