Update 3: Today is the last day to get paid $7.05 on each of your AMEX cards (including secondary cards) for buying anything from iTunes or the app store!
Update 2: 8 days left for this promo! Get a $7.05 credit for every AMEX you have including free secondary user AMEX cards!
You should receive credit for any iTunes or app store purchase, not just for songs!
Update: I registered for the promo and purchased a 99 cent song on both my primary Starwood AMEX and my wife’s secondary Starwood AMEX card on my account and received 2 credits of $7.05 each from AMEX! Total spent=$1.98. Total credited=$14.10.
Thanks AMEX!

You should be able to get a $5 credit for each AMEX card that you have. On the last AMEX promo with similar terms additional cardholders qualified for the promo as well. If you try this with an additional cardholder let us know what happens!
Before purchasing any songs remember to go to your iTunes account to switch your credit card to the AMEX card you just registered!
-To be eligible to receive the statement credit, you must register any valid U.S. American Express Consumer Card or Business Card from American Express OPEN and use that Card to make a purchase on iTunes between 2/10/11 and 3/15/11.

enrollment for second cardholder worked, let’s see if we get discount.
Do they have any other Jewish singers?
How about movies?
It says my Citi AA Amex cards are not valid Amex cards. My SPG Amex worked fine.
I wonder if this can be used to buy apps? From the details, it seems like this would be possible.
What do you mean by “you must register any valid U.S. American Express Consumer Card….”? That means register on itunes?
Thanks
wonder why they don’t just say 5 dollar. Are any songs more expensive than $0.99?
OK. So I searched online and it seems like what it means is that you have to go to AmexNetwork.com/iTunes to register your amex card.
Thanks Dans Deals for a great site!

You register with the registration link that is in the post!

There are.
Not sure of the definition of amex OPEN but I successfully registered a Hilton Honors Surpass AMEX card
I got confirmation email from Amex and went to buy my songs. Can someone clarify is this 5 songs or $5 ? I wanted to buy Battle of Evermore by Led Zepplin but it is $1.29 not 99 cents
And since I forgot to mention it in my prior post, thanks for the deal.
Yea does this work for movies?
does anyone know if it works for additional cardholders?
Do you actually have to purchase $5 worth? Is that in one purchase or just before March 15th?
in response to whether this credit will work in things other than songs, it comes up on the statement as itunes MUSIC store, so i assume apps and movies would have a different “store” and would not get the credit. but if a/o tries, let us know what happens.
Awesome! I got a credit of $7.05 after spending only $5.30 on 5 songs! And this happened on 2 Amex cards!
@Kayef:
Weird!
I wonder why?
wont work it seems if you are in israel?
I got the $7.05 credit without spending a dime at the app store!! the only explanation is that they credited me for app store purchases I made BEFORE I registered for the promo. So it seems it works retroactively! 😉
dan: I would expect you to have a lot more than just 2 amex cards. You didnt register the other cards?
@Dave:
I have dozens!
This was just testing, testing…
Dan, according to what Yaakov posted does that mean you just have to register your card to get the credit? or do you actually have to buy a song?
@abe:
You need to buy something.
@abe: I didn’t say you didn’t have to EVER have bought something to get the credit, all I was saying is that I received the credit before making any NEW purchases from the time I registered my card for this promo.
Being that I have made app store purchases in the past, I figured that this promo works on past purchases also.
@yaakov:
When did you make your last purchase? How long before you registered?
I wanted to buy songs using all my Amex cards, but after three or four I got a message to contact Itunes support to complete the transaction. Any way to bypass that?
As an aside, I am shocked that Itunes does not have a dial-in customer service number. I want to (theoretically) give them my money and they are making it very difficult for me!
i bought one song and got a credit for $7.05
thanx 🙂 it feels gr8
anyone know if i will get credit if i have a credit balance in my itunes account from redeeming a gift card? is there anyway to bill my cc as opposed to using money from my credit?
@yaakov: so this confirms credit for apps?
@anon: did for me. I have only bought apps and was credited the 7.05.
@Dan: I had made a couple purchases two weeks before the promo, not equaling 7.05, and the other ones many months ago. But I was still credited the full 7.05.
Was anyone able to order using more than 3 cards in one day?
@josh – buy a $10 iTunes gift card, it won’t come out of your existing gift balance
@greatT. you sure? if so thats not a bad idea, but i dont really wnat more credit on myh itunes account id rather just have a credit 🙂 is there anyway to default the purhcase to my amex?
does this work in israel?
oops..it now does!
What if you buy an app that is more than $7.05 – say it is $9.99. Do you still get back a $7.05 credit?
@Dan:
If I have 10 amex cards can I do it on all of them ? also does amex aa work?>
@Sean:
Yes.
@Anonymous:
Yes.
I don’t think so.
i have same question as josh. I have quite a lot of credit on my itunes account, but want to receive credit on amex. Is there a way to “purhase” something on cc as opposed to deducting from the itunes credit?
any input would be helpful–tx
Dan i registered my AA ADVANTAGE AMEX. It says you are now registered.Does this meam it’ll work?
