Do you know how to do this in Chrome?
Is there a way to get around referring 3 friends?
I keep getting an error if you are not redirected in 3 seconds please click here. I probably have either 0 or 5 subscriptions 🙂
Google: “How to Stop Google Chrome Script” by Kirk Bennet, Demand Media. Worked for me
I was able to get one magazine, but when I tried another one, I got the following error:
“404 File Not Found
You’ve requested a page which has moved or is no longer in use…”
Am I only able to get one? Any other explanation?
Thank you.
Followed your instructions and got a few. Thanks, Dan!
People, if you read his directions completely, from beginning to end, and follow each step, you won’t have an issue. If you’re having an issue, or getting an error, it’s because you’re doing it wrong and need to re-read the instructions. His instructions work, period.
I haven’t tried it but you could probably use a script blocking extension on chrome to get the same effect
Got the WSJ for my brother, tried Martha Stewart and got the same error “404 File Not Found You’ve requested a page which has moved or is no longer in use…â€
anyway to get the online wall st journal ?
@Karen:
You didn’t follow the steps properly.
@Anonymous:
It’s included.
Dan,
Any suggestion for me (please see above)? Thank you very much.
Dan,
You’re right. Need to re-enable scripting. Thanks.
FYI – for those of us who already have subscriptions to WSJ –

How do i do this on a mac?
Thanks Dan!
Also- anyone using Safari this is also super easy (and make sure to follow Dan’s instructions!)
I signed up for Forbes ages ago and still receiving it.
@YGX:
Just sign up with another family member’s name.
works like a charm.
Do these promos work with Canadian addresses?
Does anyone else think its dishonest to skip the survey part as that may be the only reason they are giving the magazine away for free. As a reward for doing survey?
@2nd Northerner:
I’d use an American address and then switch to Canada.
@Tzvi:
The magazines/newspapers are free to get their ad numbers up.
But they can’t give it away for free or else it won’t help the ad numbers, so there needs to be some process so that it’s not just “free.”
For the magazines that actually cost money like Economist they keep it behind a login page. This bypass has been around for years everywhere online. If thet didn’t like it they would move everything to the login page like they do for Economist.
Truth is they actually get paid to give these things away for free, so they don’t do that…
must be doing something wrong, but I tried the directions in both IE and Chrome, and both are doing the same thing – just re-routing me through the same pages over and over.
