Con Edison has announced they will be accepting credit card payments with no fees incurred when paying your bills.
They also said they will not shut off any services due to non-payment.
• Your service will not be shut off for non-payment.
• Waiving new late-payment fees.
• Suspending no-access fees if we can’t read your meter.
• No fees for making payments with credit cards or debit cards.
• Suspending fees for refusing smart meter installations.

whats a good credit card for paying utility bills that can earn reward/points?

I wouldn’t get a new card just for this since I doubt it will be permanent. But the US Bank Cash+ Visa that someone else mentioned is the best option for 5% back on utilities.

Amex Blue Bus Plus earns 2 amex points on all purchases.
There are plenty of 2% cards out there.
US Bank has a card (I think it’s called Cash Rewards +) that offers 5% on categories selected each quarter. They’ve had utilities as a 5% option every quarter for the past year.

How about the utility companies waive there fees until Covid19 is under control, they can survive a few months without it, not so for many of their consumers.
