They also sell Visa/MC gift cards and other store gift cards, it might work for that as well. YMMV.
so if i buy paper for 100 dollars and get 100 points in my max perks account, what are those 100 points good for? are they available to use to purchase anything for 100 dollars?

According to the MaxPerks Rewards program’s Terms and Conditions* and the program’s FAQ**, rewards can not be used to purchase OfficeMax brand gift cards:
How To Obtain and Use Rewards(*)
Reward cards are not redeemable for OfficeMax brand gift cards and are not redeemable for cash unless otherwise required by law. No amount of your reward card may be applied as payment to any credit account.**
Also, the price on these book bags are pretty high priced…
AND, the rewards expire in 3 months…
So, unless you think you will be buying about $65-87 or more merchandise at OfficeMax in the next three months, this is not a good deal at all…
Staples has a similar, but I think better offer – the bookbags are 25% off, and they will give you 50% off in rewards with NO expiration.

Don’t see any way to buy visa gift cards… perhaps I’m missing something.
yeah. I just called customer service. Maxperks rewards cannot be used for visa/ m/c gift cards.
