Some Amazon Prime members aren’t going to be happy that everyone gets free shipping for the holiday season. It’s worth noting that free shipping will take 5-8 days compared to 2 days for Prime members. Plus many Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals will exclusively only be available to Prime members and lightning deals are only available to Prime members for the first 30 minutes that they are offered.
Of course Prime members get no-rush credits when they order items with the slower shipping speed.
Amazon is playing a delicate balancing act as they move to increase sales after a lackluster quarter without angering their Prime members. That may explain why Amazon is now willing to convert those no-rush shipping credits into Amazon gift cards!
