Signup bonus:

American Express is offering 150,000 points and a systemwide free Hilton night for signing up for the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card and spending $4,000 within 3 months.

Normally the free Hilton night is only valid on weekend nights, but due to COVID-19 the night will be valid any night of the week! Additionally the night normally expires after 12 months, but due to COVID-19 the night will be valid for 24 months!

Annual fee:

There is a $450 annual fee. That’s a hefty fee, but this card has a lot of benefits.

For rates and fees of the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Cardplease visit here.

Welcome bonus terms:

You won’t get the welcome bonus on the Hilton Aspire card if you had a Hilton Aspire card previously. If you are not eligible for the bonus you will get a popup notification after clicking to apply for the card. • 3 points per dollar everywhere.
  • 7 points per dollar at U.S. restaurants and restaurant delivery.
  • 14 points per dollar at Hilton hotels.
  • There are no foreign transaction fees.

$250 Annual Hilton Resort Credit:

Every cardmembership year, you will get up to $250 in statement credits for spending at Hilton resorts. You can also lump together credits from multiple cardmembership years by calling a resort to charge your card and apply it to a reservation.

Due to COVID-19, you can use this credit at U.S. restaurants or with restaurant delivery apps like Uber Eats and Doordash through 8/31!

You can also buy gift cards at your favorite restaurant to lock in these savings.

$250 Airline Fee Credit:

Every calendar year, you will get up to $250 in statement credits for airline fees with the airline of your choice that you can register for here.

I was able to use my 2020 credit for JetBlue and United TravelBank funds good for future tickets!

Other sample uses include:

  • Airline tickets under $99 are sometimes reimbursed.
  • Airline tickets purchased with partial payment on your credit card and partial payment on a voucher or gift card are sometimes reimbursed.

Lifetime Diamond Status

All points earned through purchases on Hilton American Express Cards, that post to the Card Member’s Hilton Honors account between May 1 through December 31, 2020 will be considered Base Points and will count towards Elite tier qualification and Lifetime Diamond Status.

Learn more about elite status here and lifetime diamond status here.

Anniversary free night:

You will receive a free weekend night (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night) upon every card anniversary valid at all Hilton hotels for 12 months from the date of issue.

Choose from hotels like the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, Jerusalem, or Los Cabos.

Bonus free night:

If you spend $60,000 on the card in a cardmembership year you will receive a free weekend night upon reaching the spend threshold, valid at all Hilton hotels for 12 months from the date of issue.

If you reach $60K in spending in 2020 and your free night issued in 2020, it will be valid for 24 months on weekdays or weeknights at all Hilton hotels.

Points Never Expire:

Your Hilton points will not expire for as long as you’re a Hilton Aspire cardmember.

Priority Pass Lounge Membership:

Cardholders can enroll for a free Priority Pass membership with unlimited free visits with 2 additional free guests per visit.

See the Priority Pass site for their complete list of lounges.

$100 On-Property Credit:

Book at least 2 nights at HiltonHonors.com/aspirecard and get $100 in credits at Waldorf Astoria or Conrad.

Spend Threshold:

You’ll need to spend $4,000 on this card within 3 months.

You can pay your federal taxes for a 1.87% fee. If you overpay your taxes you can request a refund or apply it to your next year’s taxes.

My local natural gas company allows me to prepay up to $1,000 on a credit card for a $1.65 flat fee. That’s a great way to earn miles and help meet a spend threshold. My electricity supplier allows me to pay with a credit card for free as long as I am enrolled in autopay.

AMEX Offers:

Earn statement credits at stores that you register for in your AMEX account, such as Shop Small and many more.

AMEX protections:

  • If you need to return an item up to $300 and a store won’t take it back due to a time limited or final sale policy, AMEX will gladly refund you thanks to return protection. The vast majority of the time you’ll even be able to keep the item, but if you do need to send it back the return shipping will be free. That’s a far more generous policy than any other bank offers. This benefit is valid for $1,000 of returns per card per calendar year.
  • If a store charged a restocking fee to return an item then AMEX will cover it, up to $300/item, as part of their return protection coverage.
  • Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance.
  • Trip Delay Insurance.
  • Baggage insurance for eligible lost, damaged, or stolen baggage during travel on a Common Carrier (plane, train, ship, or bus) paid on the card.
  • You get up to an additional year of warranty coverage, double the original manufacturers warranty, and if you have any issue in the extended warranty year they’ll pay to have it fixed or refund your entire purchase price without a hassle. This benefit is far more valuable than warranty benefits offered by other banks.
If you need to dispute a charge there’s nobody who makes it easier or as pain-free as American Express does. It’s the easiest dispute resolution process in the industry by leaps and bounds and you can do it all online.
  • If your item is stolen or broken within 90 days you’ll be covered.
  • See this post to see just how amazing AMEX benefits can be.

1st!

Abe

The $250 resort credit doesnt expire? If they do, how can you lump together credits from multiple years?

Chase

Off topic … is it a problem to downgrade any chase card when you receive the annual fee, and when you get refunded you call back to upgrade and you get back all the perks?

Morty

Yes.

Saul

You always end up paying for the time you have the card with the fee (unless there’s some promo), so if you get refunded and then upgrade, at best you delay your annual fee for a bit and at worst, you get shut down because Chase doesn’t like being gamed.

D

Do you get the free night the first year or only upon renewal

Morty

I find Hilton points to be useless. I’d rather put the spend on a Freedom Unlimited etc.

Momsterlaurie

If I upgrade my existing Hilton card but I still be eligible for the Sign on bonus?

USam

No

Winnie

Travel is kind of alow these days

Gabe

If I book a hotel stay on Hilton.com, will the $250 credit apply to my hotel stay?

YoniPDX

One of the few Premium cards that I’m planning on renewing and not downgrading.

One of the better ROI cards as well.

Nois

@dan, do you suggest applying now? isn’t amex denying new applications?

Nati

How much you would value Hilton points?
Approximately obviously

Savannah

Kind of difficult to meet that level of spend these days, given the pandemic, plastiqs recent changes and the inability to MS with GCs.

B

For how long will the free night be valid for any day of the week?24 months?

Yitzgar

I don’t see the free night in the offer landing page

Eli

The offer doesnt mention the free night upon opening? Are you sure its not only upon renewal?

Shawn

Does this mean if I sign up for the credit card now, I will get 2 sets of $250 airline credit? One for 2020 and the other for 2021?

Mdv

Airfare under 99$ works from any airline? I booked a 35$ ticket from united and the charge posted on july 17 still no refund

Eli

Airline tickets and award ticket TAXES under $99.
You get a refund for taxes paid, nor for airfare.

Eli

Same. Booked a ticket on united for $14. No refund yet.

david

does amex require names, addresses and emails to match cardholder and honors account to get the points transferred to your hilton account when your credit card statement closes? I am asking, because hilton closed my account and refuses to open and every new account i made online even with a new email address is flagged and closed so I would open a new hilton account adding an apartment number to my home address or use my religious name or use my brothers hilton account. please advise I have lots 3 nights of certificates that need to be transferred and have not been transferred yet thank you very much

david

if someone who is knowledgeable can please answer I am desperate thank you very much

BT

Are you sure about the free night upon opening? It’s not mentioned on the landing page

J

On another hotel rewards note: Do you think Marriott will extend certificates beyond 1/31/21? Thanks!

@yungermanchik

Does the spend that is credited back (restaurant, airline) count toward the spend threshold?

Scottie D.

I recently used my AMEX platinum airline credit, to add cash to the United Travel Bank cash account, on the 13th, posted on the 14th, and my Amex account was credited yesterday the 16th. I have been trying to get back on and add more cash but, it still shows the confirmation page from the recent transaction. Dan, you scripted the entire the process. Thank you, I am so glad to have found this website

Dudu

I got denied. Anyone I should call to reconsider?

Pin

Just applied and approved. Thanks Dan!

Question – Can i add $250 to my uber eats wallet to trigger the credit? how about with door dash? can i add $250 to that?

Joseph

does fb able to use on villa? I thought only redeemable for standard room

dealsrus

“You won’t get the welcome bonus on the Hilton Aspire card if you had a Hilton Aspire card previously.” Does this depend on the person applying (same ss) or same hilton account that has a aspire card?

Lynn

person applying with ss

Elikip

Is the offer slated to end soon or is ot just the restaurant credit that is time sensitive?

Lynn

just the restaurant credit

Elikip

Thanks!

sim

can i still apply for a card, pay off the amount quickly i. e. paying my taxes, and then get the ability to spend in restaurant before 8/31? or do you think the restaurant credit will be extended past 8/31

Ahmed

Thanks Dan ! Just got this today with your link. I hope you’ll be getting more then just 15k referral that they’re offering me to refer my wife

Hilton Question

Is there a way to make sure to receive the card with enough time to be able to use it for a restaurant purchase?

JaJaDingDong

Are authorized users free? Any limit to how many? Are they eligible for any of the benfits?

Rd

If I don’t plan on flying in the near future how would I spend the $250 travel credit? Open up a United travel bank card and use this card to pay that?

Joe

I have an Amex business card with Delta Skymiles. Can i switch it to this? Or do i have to do a whole new application? Would i still get new card extras

DS

I don’t see the $250 airline credit in the offer page. Has something changed?

David

Will I still get the bonuses if I apply now?

Jeff

Will I get the restaurant credit for buying an Uber eats gift card?

Shlomo

Hi Dan,
My preferred airline is AA and I’m flying next week. I was wondering if i can use it towards this offer: ” you can multiply your AAdvantage miles for your upcoming flight. Buy 6,546 miles for only $200 ”
I know the miles arent worth that much, but i might as well use it if it is free
