Limited time signup bonus:
For a limited time, Chase is offering 125,000 points for signing up for the Chase IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card and spending $3,000 within 3 months.
Additionally with this offer you’ll earn a whopping 40 points per dollar at IHG hotels for 12 months. That consists of 25 points per dollar on the card, 10 points per dollar from IHG for the stay, and 5 bonus points per dollar from IHG for being a Platinum elite member, which is automatic for cardholders. Bookings must be made directly on IHG.com.
Plus, with this offer you’ll earn 4 points per dollar on all purchases for 12 months.
Comparison to previous signup bonus:
This IHG Premier card normally offers 80K signup points for spending $2,000. The previous limited time offer was for 120K points for spending $5,000 and didn’t include any additional bonus points for spending during the first 12 months.
Annual fee:
There is a $89 annual fee.
Welcome bonus terms:
You can receive the bonus on this card if you haven’t received a bonus on the IHG Premier card in the past 24 months and don’t currently have an IHG Premier card.
You can get the bonus even if you have the IHG Select card (The Select card was discontinued last April) or received the bonus on that card in the past 24 months. Having both cards means you’ll get 2 annual anniversary nights and you’ll be able to stack unique award discounts that both cards offer as explained below.
5/24:
All Chase cards appear to be subject to 5/24 restrictions, meaning that you are not likely to be approved if you have been approved for 5 or more consumer credit cards in the past 24 months. Note that the Chase system automatically counts cards like authorized user cards and store cards as cards that count towards 5/24, but if you explain to Chase that those cards are merely authorized user cards or store cards they can manually approve you for a new card.
You can check your credit report for free at the federally authorized annualcreditreport.com to check how many accounts are shows as being open in the past 24 months.
Elite status for all cardholders:
Having this card gives you Platinum elite status, which gives free internet, 50% bonus points, upgrades, welcome amenity, late checkout, and more.
Non-expiring points:
Cardmembers IHG points will not expire for as long as they remain a cardholder.
PointBreaks:
IHG PointBreaks allows you to book a rotating list of hotels for just 5K, 10K, or 15K points per night, depending on the hotel.
It’s a great way to travel on the cheap!
4th award night free:
When cardholders book an award stay, every 4th night will be free!
That means a 4 night PointsBreak hotel stay will start at just 15K points or 3,750 points per night!
If you have both the discontinued IHG Select card and the IHG Premier card you’ll get every 4th award night free AND a 10% rebate on award nights! That means a 4 night PointsBreaks hotel stay will start at just 13.5K points or 3,375 points per night!
Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check:
Cardholders will get reimbursed for Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check charges every 4 years. Those programs make flying so much easier!
Card earnings:

That consists of 25 points per dollar on the card, 10 points per dollar from IHG for the stay, and 5 bonus points per dollar from IHG for being a Platinum elite member, which is automatic for cardholders. After the first 12 months you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on dining, gas stations, and restaurants, and 1 point per dollar everywhere else.
There are no foreign transaction fees.
Spend Threshold:
You’ll need to spend $3,000 on this card within 3 months to receive the bonus.
You can pay your federal taxes for a 1.87% fee. If you overpay your taxes you can request a refund or apply it to your next year’s taxes.

Not bad I like the 12 month bonus points idea.
Will they match the offer if I call? I just signed up for the 120k offer a month ago
Same here I’m going to try it dosnt hurt…
i closed my ihg 2 years ago and i am still recognized by the system and when i checkin as a platinum member i do not spend ebough to earn that statues so i wonder how i earned it?
Do these points combine with other chase points? Saphire Reserve?
No
Good question! Dan??
No, Chase points are UR. They can be converted into IHG. IHG points are owned by IHG and cannot be transferred into UR. Chase is just the issuing bank of the card.
No!
if i had the old ihg select card and got grandfathered in and my annual year was this feb 2019 am i supposed to get an uncapped night.or a 40k night i was trying to understand what you were saying in your old ihg post post about the cert deval and it was to complicated for my intelligence, also are ihg uncapped drying up or are their other ways to use them
I smell another devaluation coming.
how long until points expire? is there a card to transfer down to that does not have an annual fee?
12 months without card. Never with the card. Dont think there’s a card to transfer to.
If I close this card after 1 yr and open the other cheaper annual fee ihg card: will the points go into the same account from both credit cards? (To keep these points active longer…)
Ok, rookie question: are these points easily transferrable?
No
When does this offer expire?
Same question ^
Also would like to know!
When i book an anniversary night can i add points to book a more expensive hotel?
No
Can those points be used for miles please?
No
Are these points transferable to airlines?
No
Yes. You can you call them andbthey can do it for you
Are there blackout dates when using points?
They don’t call it black out dates, they’re just not avaible youbtell me the difference
Can points be transferred between accounts of family members with the same address?
Can you compare these points to other Chase points?
best card ever! I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Jerusalem about 5 years ago for 5K a night using pointbreaks!
lots has changed in 5 years
it says free anniversary night up to 40K.
Can I get 2 nights at the Jerusalem hotel that costs 20k a night?
No.
I have the IHG rewards card X2 (1 for my wife and myself).. I have like 7 cards under my name and 7 under my wifes name some authorized users… How much does it hurt for one of us apply for this offer and have 2 IHG cc’s.. Also how much will it hurt credit score..
Won’t hurt at all in the long run, will help.
And having the old and new IHG cards makes for some sweet benefits as described in the post.
TY! What about the TSA Precheck global entry.. My wife on her reserve got the TSA precheck and I got the Precheck from one of my cards.. Does that mean I have to wait 4 years to get global?
What is the approximate dollar value for the 125k points?
I never had ihg points before…..Are rooms usually available to book with points? Or are they blocked out a lot of the time?
When does this offer end?
Does this card give you access to airport lounges?
Will they give you dollar value? Can I have them send me money instead of staying in hotels?
Intercontinental Yorkville Toronto is now 45,000 points and not eligible for anniversary nights. There are no longer any good options in Toronto
If I dont fly alot, is there a way for me to redeem the points for cash?
@Dan The IHG or Hyatt card –
We have plans to Visit AU/NZ/So. America and/or EU/UK 2020/21
– burning the rest of our SPG(Bonvoy) in South Africa this December – also have a Hilton Biz Card and 1-2 Credit Card slots left –
2BM them?
I thought MBM doesn’t work anymore!
Who said that?
Thought I saw that. Well BH it isn’t true! Great to know. גמר חתימה טובה!
Also, I think I thought that because you always like to reminisce about the days in which you were able to 24BM.
Not being able to 24BM doesn’t mean you can’t get a 2BM or possibly a 3BM through.
We’ve 2BM’d Chase Ink but not dabbled with Amex – I have an LLC and an SP.
2 SPG biz cards – great award redemption almost $4K from 2 SUBs almost 15 nights 3 in TA one upgrade at the Jaffa Junior corner suite with Med sea view.
If we can 2BM the Bonvoy biz that’s better than Hilton, IHG and Hyatt. Cavet being on/off peak future redemption hassles.
That said is IHG or Hyatt worth a 5/24 (were recently 3/24, 4/24 ( but with biz cards 25+ past 25Months.
TIA and G’mar Chatima Tovah
Wow, just got approved but with a $2,000 limit. It’s almost as if they don’t want me to get the bonus.
I now have 3 cards, 2 reg and one premier. If I book an award stay for each on consecutive days is there a way to get the 4th night free?
