Which do you recommend opening, AMEX Starwood or Chase Saphire, if I will only open one of them?
If I apply for the ink card today I’ll still get the bonus if the threshold is met in 3 months?
@Dan if I already have a chase freedom can I now just add additional now and get those 2500 point’s ?
@Sam:
Depends on your travel needs.
@Michael:
Yes.
@Shmo:
Not unless you got it within the past 90 days.
Do I have to get approved today or just apply?
@Dan thank you so much for always answering fast and to the point! it is within my 90 days! Do I just need to add the additional and they’ll give it o me automatic or do I need to call them up?
@Shmuel:
Just apply by today.
@Shmo:
You should send a secure message asking to add an additional user and to be matched to the current 20K+2.5K offer.
Sorry for not being clear had a amex starwood card in 2012 for a day and closed it before using it can I apply again?
@Dan Do you recommend the AMEX Starwood credit card if I just need it for flying?
@Dan, I have a chase ink bold , can I still apply for the plus?
@dg:
Consumer, YMMV but officially no.
Business, yes.
@Devora:
Depends what airline, route, etc
@Rob:
Yes.
@Dan, to TLV?
@Devora:
Lots of possibilities for TLV.
For roundtrip coach travel booked in advance the best bet may be the Barclay Arrival.
United miles are very good for TLV and you need a Chase card for that.
But Starpoints are good for American miles and they partner with El Al.
Plus Starwood transfers to Air France, Alaska, Delta, etc.
If there is USAir award space then you want to use BA Avios.
With Chase that transfer is 1:1 and instant.
With SPG its 20:25K but the transfer isn’t instant.
@Dan what’s you’re take on CITI thank you points? Any good offers
For the citi aa executive card… I currently hav one, that I got a few months back when the offer started. If I wanna get it again, do I need to cancell this one or can I just sign up again. And if I need to cancel, how long must I wait til I cud sign up again.?
Thnx
Any other cards for 2bm or 3bm with the citi aa card?
hi DAN, is it possible to get the $89 fee on the usair MC waived? also, I just got the usair mc + the Barclays arrival card, can I still get/apply for the luftansa card?
Does Barclays move credit around as easily as chase?
Just got instantly denied for Amex Starwood any suggestions? 727 Experian but many inquires in past 6 months
Your link to Chase Southwest Premier Visa does not seem to be working.
@suri:
Not a fan.
@Eli:
You don’t need to cancel to get another.
@Mark:
Tough to MBM Citi cards.
@zanvel:
YMMV and YMMV 🙂
@Eli:
Tougher.
@Mo.:
Call recon?
@Chase Southwest Premier Visa:
Works for me. Try another browser?
@Dan:
Tried calling reconsideration but they won’t let me speak to the underwriters themselves and said they would require another hard pull is it worth the shot?
@Anonymous:
Call on a weekday.
i had success in getting the US airways card annual fee waived by asking for an account specialist after opening the card.
mmoosshhee – can you give us a hint for what line of arguments should one use to have it waived? I think my “I do not really like annual fees” line is a little weak…
Just called to waive the annual fee on the Lufthansa.
Needed an account specialist but not only did she waive the fee, she offered me an additional 5K for spending $1K within 3 months! (I confirmed that this was in addition to the signup offer.)
Just tried to chat and get matched to the 30k offer (I just got the card 2 weeks ago). Amex rep was very adamant that I could not be matched. Kinda pissed me off considering several others have reported getting matched.
@Dan: no need to cancel, u mean even tho I currently have 1, no need to downgrade or anything, just sign up again? Why they allow you to hav 2 of the same card?
@Uri: try: “I’ve got some other cards with annuals, but all of em are courteous & waive for first year. Of course, I would rather prefer using their cards..”
anyone tried getting aa exec 450 waived?
@flyer
Many thanks, got the general idea, I think
Business link not working
Is the 100,000 mile, $200 back AA citibank card deal still on? No info on link.
Thanks.
If not what’s next best deal now?
Every how often could I apply for the same chase card? after opening/closing
