Update: DEAD! Don’t miss it if this becomes alive again. Sign up for deal notification alerts here!
From 5/1-7/31, you can earn 6 Marriott points per dollar at grocery stores on select Marriott cards.
On Chase cards the bonus is limited to $5,000 per card and all consumer and business cards are eligible. Registration is not required.
Those cards include the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Consumer Card, the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Consumer Card, and other discontinued Chase Marriott consumer and business cards including the Ritz-Carlton card.
On AMEX cards the bonus is limited to $7,500 per card and all consumer cards are eligible, including the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Consumer AMEX and the discontinued Marriott Bonvoy Consumer AMEX. AMEX is only offering this promotion at US supermarkets and this promotion is not valid on the AMEX Marriott business card. Registration is not required.
As people have stopped traveling due to coronavirus, I’m sure we’ll see other cards offer non-travel bonuses to stimulate card usage.
It’s worth noting that it’s still more valuable to use a card like Chase Freedom to earn 5 Chase points per dollar on groceries this quarter or Blue Cash Preferred/Everyday Preferred for grocery shipping.
Will you use your Marriott card for groceries?

absolutely. I still use spg when I do road trips with the family. great way to stock up on points? You wrote $7500 per card. does that mean if my wife has a card under my account we can double the points?
What about the Ritz Carlton card, does that also earn 6 points per dollar?
Yes.
My Amex spg card which was converted to a Marriott bonvoy will get 6 points per dollar? Is there anywhere on the website that says that?
Seems like it doesnt work on my former SGP consumer card, its only showing X2 points for my grocery shopping not x6
“The discontinued Marriott Bonvoy Consumer AMEX“
When was this?
Closed to new apps for more than a year.
Will absolutely use this after I max the benefit on my Freedom card.
points are worthless no?
Why would they be worthless?
Cheapest room is 35,000 points a night no?
That would mean you would have to spend $5,833 on groceries for one free night, when I said worthless I meant basically worthless

I stand corrected, although ive never seen and just checked and still have not seen an actual stay for under 35k a night.
I’ve stayed for multiple nights at 12.5k and 15k.
Me too
Am I missing something? Marriott points are basically 1/3 the value of MR or UR when you transfer them out. So this is like 2x, when you can get 4x MR with the Amex Gold.
Not everyone has an AMEX Gold.
Sure, but warrants mention with the other cards you listed, which not everyone has either.
Does this include gift card purchases at grocery stores?
is this on the amex Marriott business card also?
Read the post?
Ah, why would I do that when I can post instead ():+)
if i have the discontinued amex bonvoy (formerly SPG card), what’s more valuable,6 ppd of Marriott points or 3 ppd of citi points? thanks
