As announced in late 2023, Delta’s new club access restrictions are now in place.

All entries to Sky Clubs within a 24-hour period after your first check-in at any Delta Sky Club count as 1 visit, regardless of how many SkyClubs you enter within that 24-hour period.

Considering that you need to fly Delta to take advantage of the lounge access, it sure seems odd for Delta to punish its own frequent flyers with these restrictions that are unlikely to solve overcrowding at Delta Sky Clubs.

What do you think of these changes? Will it affect whether you renew your card?

Real reason why I won’t renew

I am constantly amazed by the level of frustration people have when they book basic and then don’t get full Delta service.

You basically booking Spirit Airlines on Delta metal…that is what they are trying to compete with.

It is ridiculous that the government even gives families free seat booking when non families have to pay

Avi

I assume bringing along a friend counts as 2 visits?

R

You cannot bring a friend. You can only bring a friend if you have the DL Reserve card and guest a guest pass.

DansDeals should start its own lounge network!

Jak

With the Amex business platinum I believe they won’t let you in of your ticket is in economy. Is this still the case?

R

That’s incorrect — you can’t get in if you booked a BASIC Economy ticket

Delta already made status tough to earn, and with ticket prices this high, loyalty just doesn’t feel worth it anymore. They burned post-pandemic goodwill faster than expected, and while the average traveler might not care, they’re making it harder for even their biggest supporters to justify sticking around. It feels like they’re banking on blind loyalty, but people are getting wise to the game

I have Amex platinum and I fly and use Delta lounge every week. This will make me reconsider
