Capital One added a new transfer partner today, JetBlue.
Unfortunately, while most transfer partners are at a 1:1 ratio, transfers to JetBlue are at a 5:3 ratio.
JetBlue points are not particularly valuable as they offer a fixed value per point with no outsized values. If you want to redeem for a JetBlue Mint ticket, you’ll be much better off doing that with Avios than with JetBlue points. For example a flight from JFK to London in MINT class on March 4th costs 160,000 JetBlue points compared to 78,000 Avios.
And if you really want JetBlue points, you’ll be better off transferring from Chase or Citi with a 1:1 ratio or AMEX to JetBlue at a 5:4 ratio.
For example, a JetBlue flight from JFK to Los Angeles on March 25th costs $98.30 in basic economy, $143.30 in standard economy, or $657.30 in Mint business class:
You can redeem 6.5K points+$5.60 in basic economy, a value of 1.43 cents per point, 9.6K points+$5.60 in standard economy, a value of 1.43 cents per point, or 47.8K points+$5.60 in Mint, a value of 1.36 cents per point:
As the transfer ratio is 5:3, the effective value per Capital One mile would be just 0.86 cents per point in economy or 0.82 cents per point in Mint. You would be much better off just booking the flight via the Capital One travel portal for a value of 1 cent per point, plus you would earn TrueBlue points for the paid flight, which would add to that value.
Or just use your Capital One miles for transfer to other programs with a better transfer ratio, that provide the ability to earn outsized value for your points.

I’m check these out. Thank you for fast response.
Nov 11 nyc to Lhr on avios booking jetblue is 25 plus $10.10. On jetblue it’s 24,300 plus 5.60. An I doing something wrong that avios is more than jetblue?
JetBlue prices are tied to the cash rate and Avíos prices are flat if award availability exists. This means sometimes if fares are low JetBlue will require fewer points.
Though the point of this article is that because of the poor transfer ratio you’d have to transfer 41,500 Capital One points to book through JetBlue vs. 25,000 to book through Avíos.
So if I have chase to jetblue 1:1 jet blue is better off here? Any other way to book jetblue besides Qatar?
If I book jetblue using Qatar will I still be able to get mosaic perks? I am mosaic 1 at jetblue. Also please explain November 11 to me why is jet blue cheaper nyc to lon ?
@Dan – which tool to you use to book award flights? There is no way you search each one separately. Do you use point.me? what are your thoughts?
im new to transferring points but there are way too many options to compare.

but thats just Amex. Any other tool for Chase points etc..?
thank you for the reply!
I disagree with the headline “but you shouldn’t take advantage of it.”
True, CapitalOne miles only TRANSFER at 5:3, but the Venture X EARNS two miles per dollar, netting 1.67 JetBlue points per dollar spent. As opposed to other cards, which may TRANSFER at 1:1, but only EARN one point per dollar. If your points were earned on sign-up bonuses, then you are right. But if it’s based on card spend, not so much.
If you’re earning only 1 point per dollar with any bank, you are doing it wrong.
