Business charge card:
As this is a business card it won’t show up on your personal credit report.That means it won’t against you for Chase’s 5/24 guideline. It also means that spending on the card won’t hurt your credit score like it would on a consumer card.
As it’s a charge card without a defined credit line it’s not subject the limit of 5 American Express credit cards per person.
You don’t need to be a traditional “business owner” as you might think of one to get a business card.
For example if Joe Smith sells items on Ebay or on Amazon, or has any other side business/hobby and wants a credit card to better keep track of business expenditures he can just open a business credit card for “Joe Smith Sole Proprietorship” as the business name. You don’t need to file any messy government paperwork to be allowed to do that.
Just be sure to select “Sole Proprietorship” as the business type and just use your social security number in the Tax Identification Number field as well as in the social security number field.

Thank you Dan!
You note that the Amex platinum business card doesn’t count against the 5/24 rule for chase, would that be true for the other Amex business cards here as well? And chase business cards?
If I’m over 5/24 can I try for a chase business card or is that subject to those rules as well?
@Danfan:
AMEX and Chase business cards won’t count against 5/24.
These Chase business cards are subject to 5/24.
When using hybrid points on either chase or Amex to book Southwest flights what happens if I then decide to cancel the flight? (With SW points it just goes straight back into my account)
A little off topic also how does it work when cancelling sw flights booked with a sw gift card, does it now become exipreable and/or does it now become locked into a certain passenger’s name? Or does it just go back to the gc like points do?
Just to confirm, I can apply anytime tomorrow and still be OK or I need to apply by tonight before midnight?
@Srulyp:
It will probably end tomorrow afternoon.
hi
i would like to know if i could have my additional chase card from my wifes account in my login
hi dan i have an 11hr stop in zurich what do you recommend to do?
Will I get the $150 bonus for blue cash preferred even if I upgrade to it from the blue cash everyday?
I have previously recieved the amex biz plat CC for another business. Can I apply and get the points for another card if I use another business with another tax ID?
just to confirm i would be elegible or 60k southwest bonus from a business card even if I already got the bonus for sw personal card. I am 99% sure I would but please confirm.
can you do both Global Entry and Pre-Check? and be Refund for both? having amex business platinum
@Dan101:
Lucerne.
See the trip notes tab.
@Jonathan:
No.
@BizOwner:
YMMV.
@dans:
Yes.
@moshiko613613:
Global Entry includes Pre-Check.
What makes you think the 80k ink offer isn’t the regular offer?
What if you already signed up for tsa pre check? Can you do global entry now, and get refunded?
3 questions regarding the Amex Blue Cash.
I have this card since end of Nov. I’m getting the 10% for amazon but I’m not seeing the 1% cash back. would this be on a future statement?
Does $1000 @ Amazon count towards the sign up bonus.
When I signed up I tried to get 2 regular and 2 preferred ( 2 each for myself and my wife) and got 2 regular because I click submit on those first. I should have applied for the preferred (6% back groceries) first but opps. Any chance of upgrading to preferred? Could I get the $150 sign up bonus instead? How and when should I try to upgrade?
@Abe:
It was announced as an intro offer like the Sapphire 100K.
@Moshiko613613:
Yes.
@Eric:
It should be there, call and ask.
It does count.
You can apply for the preferred now. You don’t get signup points for upgrading.
How many chase business Sole Proprietorship cards can I open
@ Dan
I did apply again for myself yesterday and was denied (same reason as back in Nov., “reached the maximum number and type of Cards that we will approve within the period of a few month”) but on the application status check screen it only lists my Nov application.
I tried again for my wife and same thing.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Can I get ink offer if I already have ink plus?
Hi Dan, is it too late to get the double travel credit ($600) for 2017/18 on the CSR? If not, how can I still get that double credit? Thank you!
How do we still get the double travel credit with the CSR if it is already 2017?
@Sol:
There isn’t a limit.
@avraham s:
Yes.
@Nachman:
@NF:
You can get the 2017 credit now and the 2018 credit in December.
Can I do a 2BM for a business and personal AMEX simultaneously?
@Al:
A 2BM is for 2 cards from the same bank.
@Dan: Thanks! I’m going to apply then for two AMEX cards!
dan if I applied for the chase Fairmont and chase sapphire in one inquiry and I get turned down for the sapphire bec of 5/24 and approved for the Fairmont does it go down on my credit as a denial?also if I applied for 2 diff chase cards in a span of 5 minutes did it get registered as 1 inquiry thank you
@paul:
There is no such thing as a denial on a report.
Should be 1 pull.
@Dan: Actually, I did a 2BM with chase and citi. I wanted to apply for the chase card first (more valuable), but citi is inquiry sensitive (for more than 6 in 6 months). So like this I applied for the one I wanted first, and citi didn’t see the inquiry.
Why not list which cards are not charged a Foreign transaction fee?
If i open chase ink biz for different businesses will I get points for each one or just one time?
if i get the Chase Ink Business Preferred, will the points be in the same account as my personal cards? will i be able to use them together?
If I was turned down for the Sapphire reserve card due to 5/24, will I be able to get the Ink Business Preferred card.
