correction: i believe mastercard and visa offer the same warranty extension. its not just amex. i think they have the same time match also (i.e. month for month up to 12)
It has nothing to do with Visa or MC, but the issuing bank.
The ones that I have fine-combed their fine-print seem to offer it only on an item that has exactly a 1 year warranty built-in. If it is more or less than that they wont offer anything!
Amex on the other hand gives you an additional year no matter what.
I think buy.com matches the manufactur for up 2 12 months in this case however there is no warrenty I don’t think they will offer anything!
i’m not sure about that. i dealt with a claim on my mastercard (citi) and dealt directly with mc on the phone and by mail. they were the ones that covered it.
