This is a relatively new LCC, and I’m not going to make a whole roundup for them.(See previous LCC roundups via the links in the right sidebar)
In short all of their flights go from small secondary airports to either Las Vegas, Orlando/Sanford, or S. Petersburg/Clearwater.
They fly to about 50 cities in total using 23 MD-80 airplanes.
Besides for having a terrible website UI(make sure you choose flight only) and no mileage program there’s not much else to say about them.
Go check them out and see if they fly anywhere close to you!

I am a fan only of the true mileage cards that give you actual miles.

While I am not familiar with all of the Thank You program, however i took a quick glance at it and i saw that for airline tickets:
-14 days advance purchase is required
-Saturday night stay is required.
I’m also going to assume(correct me if I’m wrong) that it is like all of the other “points-miles” cards, like the capital one “no hassle rewards” scam card, which carry a limit of what the ticket can cost, often limiting the points to no more than .01 each, and often even far less than that.

The great thing about true airline mileage cards is that
-you can book expensive last minute tickets
-on most airlines you can make free changes to the dates
-None of the major airlines still have blackout dates
-There is never a limit to the value of the ticket, so an international business ticket worth $10,000 may be only 90,000 miles, valuing each mile at over .11!

At any rate using miles for a domestic ticket is almost always a poor use a miles, but I will go into that further in a future post.

As long as you are somewhat flexible, a true miles(or a card that lets you exchange points for real miles, like an amex membership card or the starwood card) is the way to go-you will never get that kind of value out of any other rewards card, period.

Jetblue(iata code:B6) has applied to start flying into Chicago O’Hare(ORD) as early as November.
Prediction: Expect big Chicago-New York fare wars to erupt in the coming weeks!

Update #1-2:00pm: United has pulled the PIT-DFW fare, so the clock is now ticking(I’d estimate about 6 more hours) if you want to buy the $113 AA fare from PIT-DEN!
This is a classic example of a hub war retaliation.
At 12:30pm yesterday, the fare analysts over at United decide to file a $113+(approx. $30-$40 in taxes) Round trip fare from Pittsburgh to Dallas/Ft. Worth to boost traffic on that route.
AA, which operates a mega-hub out of DFW, doesn’t miss a beat and at the next airfare filing (8:30pm) filed a $113 airfare from PIT to Denver, which just happens to be a mega-hub for United…
Who gains from all this fighting? The consumer of course!
Of note: Hub war fares rarely stick around for too long, so buy now!(Or at least hold now, as both AA and UA offer hold options right on their websites!)

Any longtime readers of mine can tell you that I’m a big fan of airline credit cards. They offer huge signup bonuses, have great benefits(discounts on paid tickets, cheaper mileage tickets, free luggage shipping, etc, etc.) and the best part is that most of them keep on giving you the bonus every time you get a new card!

I am also an outspoken critic of the scams by the fake airline card companies, that offer “No blackout dates” especially the worst scammer and false advertiser of them all, Capital One. In short, while with a true airline miles card you can get great values like business tickets to Australia worth $9,000 for just 90,000 miles(a value of .10/mile) there so-called miles cards(Like the Capital One card) never can be used for more than .01/mile, and that’s in a best-case scenario, often you’ll get much less than that measly amount. No wonder they have “no blackout dates”…

That being said, the absolute best credit card for big spenders is the Starwood Amex
They offer 3 starpoints/dollar spent at any Starwood hotel chain, and 1 Starpoint per dollar spent everywhere else.
What’s so good about that?
You can transfer 20,000 starpoints for 25,000 real airline miles on almost any airline you could possibly want miles on!
The best part about that (besides for the 25% bonus) is that you can wait until you find an award ticket that you want, and then transfer it to the airline of your desire.
So why haven’t I pushed this card until now???

I’ve received tons of email asking for clarification on my post about the citibank 10,000 mile offer including many people asking the same questions, so i figure it’s worth a post…

1. How do I link the AAdvantage credit card to the citibank account?
Here’s how to do that:
-Login to your citibank checking account online
-Go to “Accounts”
-Go to “Link An Account”
-Go to “Link Accounts to an ATM/Debit Card” (Yes, I know it says Atm/debit card, but this is how you link a credit card as well.)
-Enter in your AAdvantage credit card number.
-Check back the next day and when you login it should display the AAdvantage card balance.
-Don’t forget to fulfill all of the other conditions, and then get the miles!

2. How do I get the account with no monthly fee?
Citi waives the monthly fee if there is $1500 in the account, if there is direct deposit, or if there are 2 payments paid per month.
To make 2 payments is easy, just pay off 2 credit card bills/month.
Don’t have credit card bills to pay monthly?
Just have it automatically send out 2 checks for $1 each to other members of your family, to set that up:
-Go to “Payments”
-Go to “Add A New Payee”
-Type in the name and address of the family member.
-Go back to “Payments”
-Go to “Set up a recurring payment”
-Set it up to send out a $1 check on the 1st of every month.
-Repeat this process for 1 more person and never worry about the monthly fee again!

3. Do I earn 5% now on all of the money in my checking account?
No!
To get the 5% interest you must transfer the money out of your checking account and into your e-savings account.
To do so:
-Go to “Transfers”
-Go to “Make a One-Time Transfer” under the “to your linked citi accounts” tab.
-Select from checking to e-savings
-Type in the amount, and it will be instantly transferred.
You can still withdraw money from it from any atm machine using the savings account option.

4. Does citi offer free atm access to other banks?
If you apply online with an address in a county in which there are no citibank branches then you will be allowed 5 free transaction per month.
Citi will waive their own fee, and reimburse you for the other bank’s fee.
Citi also has thousands of atm’s in 7-11’s nationwide to withdraw money from.
Want to get money into your e-savings account, but don’t have a citibank in your city?
You can just deposit your money into a local bank, then logon to your citibank account online, go to the “transfer” section, then “link an external account,” and then specify the amount of money you want to transfer from your local account into your e-savings account. There is no charge for this ACH transfer.

Hopefully that cleared up some of the confusion…
