AA announced that you can now confirm a seat for $25 for a same day travel flight change within 12 hours of your desired flight.
Previously you had to do it within 3 hours of your desired flight.
This change will make it much easier to confirm a change to switch to a flight later than your original flight, rather than be limited to changing to an earlier flight becuase of the 3 hour rule.
The best thing about confirmed standby is that it works even on mileage and priceline tickets, which normally do not allow standby at all!
Here’s hoping that other airlines will match this customer-friendly policy change!

-No changes are allowed in origin/destination airports.
-Changes to the connecting airports are allowed.

Last year I upgraded the supplied 40 GB 4,200 RPM(Rotations per minute) hard drive on my Dell 700m notebook to a 100 GB 7200 RPM hard drive.
Being the early adopter that I am I paid dearly for it at the time ($220 or so) but it was the best upgrade that I made on my laptop.
The performance boost from the 7,200 RPM hard drive was much more noticeable than from more RAM or a faster processor.
After the upgrade windows booted up in literally half the time, and programs opened up without any delays (e.g. before the upgrade firefox used to take a fair amount of time to open up, afterwards it didn’t take any time at all!)
At any rate Dell is now selling the 160GB 7,200 RPM drive for just $129, which is an unbeatable price.
The drive is manufactured by Seagate. (You can tell that it’s a Seagate by clicking on the picture of the hard drive to enlarge the image!)
Even though the links say that it’s for a “Latitude D820″ this will work fine in any notebook that takes standard 2.5” SATA notebook hard drives.
This drive is available from Dell Home Outlet or Dell Small Business.
I would recommend buying from Dell Small Business, just in case Dell Home Outlet might send you a refurbished drive!

This is really simple, but it may not work for everyone.
I discovered this after activating a few family member’s cards.
When you are activating your card, push “0” to speak to a live person.
They will run through a whole activation spiel with you.
As part of the spiel they will offer you the ability to add an additional card to your account and get 2,500 bonus starwood points for adding one cardholder, with no annual fee!
Getting an additional card should not affect your credit at all.
You do not have to give the other cardholders social security number, just a birthdate (Tell them that you don’t know their social security number).
If you are not offered the additional card or the 2,500 points, just ask for it!

Google offers free 411 service to look up business phone numbers.
The neat thing about it is that Google will connect you directly to the business, so you don’t have to deal with writing down the number like with other free 411 services.
Another neat feature is that Google will send you an SMS with all of the business details including their address!
