Any dates in November?
K. Thanx . I will study the pictures. I’m on mobile so it’s hard to see. Will check when I get home later to a pc.
Thanx
@Steve:
alternatively, you could just read the post title that says “via Newark”

any deals for flight starting in Israel to Newark and returning from Newark to Israel?
@DAVID: +1?
Dan,
Thanx for all your work and info. really appreciated.
Got a question a little off topic. I’m short 6k premier miles to get elite. Thinking of going ZFV – LAX, it’s worth spending 250 for an in-and-out trip, go to the Devils/Ducks game and fly right back just to get the elite status. Does the train ride from EWR to ZFV (73 miles) count as 500 premier miles?
Thanx
@SAM:
Lol, of course not.
@out of towner:
Nope.
need depart around 12/20 or a few days ealier to tlv. anything available, Dan?
“Federal law requires that everyone pick up their luggage in Newark regardless of the final destination at which point nobody is going to force you to take the final flight.”
Is EWR unique in this regard? Are there airports where you will be “forced” to take the final flight if you attempted this shtick?
@Redbull3:
Same with every US port of entry.
Thanks dan. What are the chances of finding a deal to Israel for August? When is he best time to book an August trip?
Do you have any other tips or finding cheaper flights?
Thanks just booked a flight for my nieces wedding – really happy with the deal. Any good deals for March to Israel ???
Not sure what to make of this. But when I called United and asked them if I am traveling from tlv – Newark – Chicago, do I take my luggage in Newark? She answered that since all legs of trip are United , the luggage is automatically transferred. Does anyone have any experience with this?
@rick hmmmmmm who to trust Dan or some clueless united rep. I think you should trust the clueless rep.
rick, read the post. and then read it again. and then again.
Rick – UA agent is incorrect. You will pick up your bags and walk them through customs in Newark. United agents arent trained to answer these questions and most of them never left India (ask them).
Hi Dan, thanks so much for all the helpful info! Just tried to do a search on ITA, but I have a unique request I think… my husband and I want to fly to Israel, but we want to stop in Europe somewhere for a few days on our way to Israel because we have never been there. I found some flights on ITA, e.g., MIA-Rome-TLV there and TLV-JFK-MIA on the way back, which would work perfectly, except we’d need to somehow modify the connection in Rome so we can stay there for a few days rather than a few hours. Is there any easy way we can search for/purchase a flight like this? I already tried to just search for the single legs on Orbitz and the prices came out way more than what ITA came up with. Maybe I’m not putting it into Orbitz correctly though. We’d really appreciate your advice to: a) extend our stopover for a few days if possible; and b) figure out how to find the correct tickets on Orbitz to purchase, once we find the fares we want on ITA. Thanks in advance!!
Looking for a flight from NY to TLV roundtrip for the last week of February but I am not being matzliach. Can someone please help me?

@Mazal: BTW, Looking for go for ONE week.
take down clear flight info, call orbitz and tell them you want the same connection on date x, and ask for price.

Hi Dan,

I am somewhat computer-challenged. I am looking for a cheap round-trip ticket FROM Tel Aviv to New York in order to fly my kids here for their sister’s wedding. Departure date is Monday, December 9th and a return of ~ Monday, December 16th. I tried to do the multi-city thing, but couldn’t seem to make it work. Any advice? So far, my best price is $834 on Air Italia, but the return trip has two stopovers. Yuck!
