Flights are via Istanbul with a total travel time of 14-15 hours. Turkish is a perfectly safe airline and thousands of religious Jews have taken their flights without issues. They are also a very good airline that still gives 2 free bags and they have an awesome Star Alliance lounge in Istanbul. Their Premium Economy comfort class product has rave reviews, so if you have the chance to upgrade to that on the cheap you should definitely go for it.

Would love to read a detailed report from people who have traveled on Turkish to Israel in coach and first but didn’t see anything on the DDF. Thinking about booking them but wanted to hear others’ experiences beforehand. Thanks!

Dan-
This is not exacly en-pointe but I am trying to get my family of 5 from NYC to Israel this summer. I have about 450k Ultimate rewards points collected to date (still working on more via new card sign-ups). What would be my best use of the points to reach my goal? Don’t mind stop overs if it translates to big savings. Thanks!
Anyone ever find cheap dates end of december?? 🙁
on orbitz u can find that price ,
TK miles that I credit to UA are they PQM?
I think 683 I gone, or if anyone knows different please tell me . tx.

@Paul post in the forums
If you book on orbitz with amex gold do you still get triple points? Or only direct through airlines?
Does it work for next sukkos?
@Jeff:
It won’t earn any United miles.
@thanks:
Orbitz is worthless for Turkish.
Just try to book those dates and see what happens…
“We’re sorry, the fare for that itinerary is no longer available.”
@Mark:
Still working for me on the sample dates.
@Hila:
Orbitz, Priceline, etc just pass on the charge to the airline so it is typically a direct charge.
@rivka:
No.
Dan,
Where do you see these fares. I do not see them anywhere loaded on any GDS or OTA?
Mordy,
Crescor Travel
there are 683 dates still available just for specific dates, like the ones mentioned in the post
@Mordy788:
Read the post.
Looking for 11/24 till 12/2…its only showing $783..
@runnergirl:
My wife and I went this past Chanuka with 2 kids under 2yrs through the Japanese website deal. The planes and food were ok but the the staff on the JFk to Turkey and Turkey to JFK legs were HORRIBLE!! They 2 stewardesses yelled at my wife because our kids were cranky and that we used too much space.
The other airline employees were very nice and apologised for their coworkers behavior.
can you explain what you mean by turkish is worthless on orbitz?
i was told on ddf that you dont get miles for these flights
I Flew with them. I didn’t have any real problems with them partly because it was an empty plane but on the way back one of the Steward spilled orange juice um me and just said I’m sorry and that’s it
Dan looking for tickets from TLV- NYC
Chanukah time 11/25 – 12/4 any suggestions
Is it also from tlv to la?
forgot to mention that I took three suitcases and the guy by JFK let me through with it at no extra charge
I tried all option in Jan and the price 783.67 how did you get to 683.37
Hi, I just flew to america and back to israel with my fiance who wore his kipa the entire time and we had a really positive experience. Great price, 2 free suitcases, free wifi on select planes and we felt totally safe so can’t get better than that 🙂
@Dan can i access that star alliance lounge with a cancelled amex platinum or valid sapphire card if id be flying coach? if not, then how (besides paying for it…)
@LEAH
that’s the cheapest for those dates. certain dates are 683, but the once you chose start at 783, there is no fare for 683 on your dates.
@chaim you cannot say anything about an airline because someone spilled juice on you…
I booked over 500 people with them in the past few months, only positive experiences
@MaaYanky: I went to and from Israel the past Month with kids they were very nice, they even played with the kids!
Dan i was in the PRIMECLASS CIP LOUNGE in Turkey thats also very nice they even have a play room for the Kids! and thats all thanks to you for the free Lounge Passes from the INK cards!
question, is it possible to do priceline name ur own price from cleve to tlv. meaning they say maximum 1 stop, and we know there is no direct flight from cle to tlv anyways. So would i be guaranteed a flight for ex. from cle- ewr or whatever other city flys to tlv?
@Dan
@Anonymous:
Same for me. Orbitz changed the price at the ind to over $1000 a ticket!!
@Dave:
To and from TLV they were very nice. YMMV
Did anyone get the $683 price??
Thanks Dan ,, just did one ,, going 4 the next one
@WhyAich: any pesach dates for this fare?
MaaYanky .. YES
@Mark
Can you share the exact dates and the website you used?
Just flew w/Turkish Air to Eretz Yisroel for Sukkos. Would recommend it to anyone. Felt safe all the way through. Great airline, roomy seats (even regular economy) and great service. Much better service than Brussels Air or Iberia. Istanbul is interesting, had a 3 hour stop-over, felt like I was in Migdal Bavel! A little bit of a baal-hagan, but we managed. Bring along some food/snacks for the layovers. And returning you may not get BaDatz, but the hashgacha from Antwerp is very good.
@MaaYanky
I made mine at priceline as dan wrote, leaving 2/05 back 2/10
I have flown Turkish this past summer from TLV-JFK-TLV with my family (5 kids). Very nice airline. If you would like to ask anything else, feel free to contact me on FB… Yitzie Selengut
im looking for tickets from YUL to TLV in Feb 2014, any good specials?
anything for pesach coming up
absolutly not
They may be good as an airline, but the Turkish govt has been nasty to the state of Israel, acted as an enemy, and many in Israel would not patron turkish businesses or tourism in Turkey. read some news. good price is nice, but do we sell our values and pride to an unfriendly country ?(gently said).
Fantastic airline, I flew with them to Israel and not only I felt safe in the airport but I took the free tour if Istanbul. If your layover is over 10 hrs you can get a free hotel night
@clcm
they are not but you can still get good deals
I have flown Turkish 4 times in both 1st and Comfort class. Turkish air has become my airline of choice especially when I am in India on business and went to visit my son in yeshiva in israel. Great airport and very safe,
@runnergirl: We flew Turkish from Tel Aviv to NY, roundtrip, over the summer. Other than the exotic kosher food to NY, the trip was great. Great entertainment system, spacious coach seats, goodie bag (eye shades, socks, toothbrush, etc) even in coach and courteous staff. The stop over was a bit of a drag, as any stop over is, but we were super happy with the flights, especially since we were allowed 2 suitcases each.
what are the best rates for lag bomer????
Went with Turkish for Rosh Hashanah, they had great service and beautiful roomy planes (sometimes I thought I wish our El Al would be so good and nice to religious Jews…)
thank you – now i can visit my parents !1 Z-Z-G and shtark!
@Uler – Is that true or are you making that up?
Did anyone fined it working for Chanukah or Purim?
@Yitz: yes,
@charles: pessach is around 850$
it turkish part of star alliance? if yes can i book a business or first class ticket with them?
i have chase points
Flew Turkish in J TLV-IST-YYZ. Phenomenal in very way. Lounge in IST one of nicest I’ve ever been to. KSML was awful though. Bring your own food. FAs really nice, plane is modern and in good shape, entertainment isn’t bad. Coach looked ok though I only took a quick look. Anyone know how to upgrade from Y to Y+ or J?
I just flew Turkish to Israel with a one hour stop over. Wonderful airline! I was a bit nervous before the trip, but highly recommend this airline.
Just came home….. NY -TLV! great service “”wifi”” would definitely do it again! Great experience!
Agree to the kosher food…. its all coming from Turkey. Stop over is a bit of a drag as you have to go through security…. they have a connecting flight within an hour & a half….
It doesn’t show less than 783. Anybody find otherwise?
I’ve used Turkish several times, both in comfort class and coach and both experiences were super. The only complaint I had was this last time when I was in Istanbul, I thought I would be able to go to their lounge because I was classic plus but they said I had to be gold, not silver to enter. Before I left, agents on the phone had said I would be able to go in….
@dan
Hi dan,
My friends and I want to go to Israel for our college winter break and we can’t find anything less than $912. The dates are 1/8-1/19. Do you know of any cheaper flights or if they will become cheaper?

don’t know what all you guys are talking about. I just went with them and has nasty service including a delay of about 6 hours. and they didn’t even provide us with food or anything

@ Dan – ORD to TLV on Delta, $672 1/22-1/29 sample date
Stop over is at JFK.
Some days in Feb. are good too for close to that amount.
Is it ok to fly Turkish airlines with an Israeli passport? Has anyone done that before?
If we want to stay a few days or a week in Istanbul, is that an option we can exercise without any further increase in the airfare?
If we want to stay a in Istanbul for a few days or a week, is that an option we can exercise without further increase in airfare?
