Turkish is a perfectly safe airline and thousands of religious Jews have taken their flights without issues. They are also a very good airline that still gives 2 free bags and they have an awesome Star Alliance lounge in Istanbul. Many flights have free Wi-Fi aboard.
Note that these deeply discounted Turkish fares do not earn miles on partner airlines. But they do earn miles in Turkish’s own Star Alliance program.
While on the topic of Montreal and Tel Aviv, here’s a nonstop flight you don’t see operating everyday…

The Toronto-Tel Aviv $684 fare has much better availability. You should be able to find it for most departure dates in November, January, February, and March.

thanks dan will forward to my friend there! is a one hour stopover long enough?
waiting for jfk-tlv ticket…
Great deal! Can’t wait to fly Turkish when the opportunity comes about.
How did you know about that direct flight? Maybe you could dig out a direct flight to CLE 😉
The non stop AC-083 TLV/YUL is a one off charter with seats being sold to the public. It’s for the March of the living group.
@Dan
I just flew with TK YUL-TLV-YUL, (business booked on ANA for 85k miles + 478.00), it was a very nice experience, the timing works better than any other European airline, (from YUL you have to make stop anyway), the flight from Montreal does NOT have Wi-Fi, (the one from YYZ does indeed have). BTW the direct flight you showed, they have this every year at the time of the israeli Independence Day.
Thanks Dan for all your work.
It is also worth to mention that unlike almost all European airlines (except Swiss), TK does have a regular business class as well, for the short flight from IST to TLV.
@jack 1 hour should be enough. i’ve done it multiple times.
Amazing deal! But I wouldn’t fly Turkish again after they cancelled my tlv-jfk ticket twice without telling me,during the summer.. And they still hate Israel.
if anyone finds later dates of YUL-TLV, pls post
I see only for $660
$660 CAD = $590 USD
Cant find anything for later dates 🙁
one seat left at 750 and then 850 yyz
Cannot seem to get the 581 price.
when is aircanada starting yul-tlv non stop service??? will they have daily flights???
And return is 2 flights
booked!! thanks dan :))
is any of this specials also from TLV to NY, round trip?
hi, thanx so much, just booked 2 tickets.
From JFK $761
Remember that this cheap deal means giving a hated enemy of Israel a bump up.
Is everything just about a good deal?
I agree with Izz. I’m not about to forget their displays of anti-semitism, their threats that the Jewish community condemn Israel, or the horrific way they treated the Israelis who were stuck at Istanbul airport during the war.
@Izz:
So don’t buy it.
Not every family can afford to fly with El Al for twice the price and that’s a decision they’ll have to make.
But with a whopping 8 flights a day, Turkish brings more passengers to Israel that almost anyone, and ultimately that’s good for the Israeli economy.
Hi Dan
I made a ticket yesterday at 9:50 am on the assumption that “Priceline tickets are refundable until 11:30pm ET the day after purchase.” as you stated on this post.
I called now (10:30 am the next day) pricline and they said too late!! only up to 11:30 pm THE DAY OF PURCHASE!
What do I do now?!
@Tzvi:
Plenty of people have reported being told they have until 11:30pm the day after.
Try to call again and ask for a supervisor and if that doesn’t help feel free to email me your itinerary and I’ll see what I can do.
@Dan:
I called again, they said Canadian booking could only be canceled the same day.
@Anonymous:
Do you have an American billing address?
@Dan:
Yes. but the CC I used was my Canadian one with my Canadian billing address.
@Dan:
I emailed you my itinerary. Can you try to do something?
hello Dan
can you please update this deal, it seems to be dead,can you confirm.
