This fare is valid on select dates between November 2013 and March 2014. Departures are not available in December.
This is valid for flights originating in NYC only. It is not valid for flights originating in Tel Aviv.
The flight times work out very well with connections in Turkey that are as short as 1 hour to Israel and 75 minutes on the return:
Turkish does not award miles on their ultra-cheap fares, so you will not earn miles for these flights.
Sample valid dates (Plenty of others are available as well):
-11/03-11/18
-11/17-12/01 (Chanukah)
-11/26-12/09 (Chanukah)
-01/12-01/21 (Tu B’Shvat)
-01/19-01/27
-01/26-02/02
-02/03-02/16 (Purim Katan)
-02/16-02/23
-02/23-03/02
-03/02-03/09
-03/10-03/24 (Purim)
If you’re nervous about being an Orthodox Jew transiting Istanbul know that thousands of people have done it without issue. Or just take a look on DDF…
–Galitzyaner davened with his tefilin in the open in the airport and reports that the kosher food served on Turkish was great.
–Cw3323 davened on the plane and loved the Wi-Fi and other amenities in coach
–Mordy788 confirms that the kosher food from Istanbul is better than the slop from JFK. He is a travel agent who has booked numerous travelers via Istanbul without issue and has done it himself with only positive experiences-including davening on he plane.
-YakovT booked coach but was upgraded for free to comfort class which has received rave reviews.
–bb_sam reports that he prefers flying with Turkish with a stop to Toronto over flying nonstop on El Al to Toronto and that the Turkish lounge is one of the best in the world.
-You can access that lounge with a United Club card or if you have Star Alliance Gold status.

I was thinking of adding on Turkey as a side vacation for a week or so on my next trip to Israel. I am hearing things that its not safe for a frum Jew to go to. Has anyone visited the actual country outside the airport??
After I selected my $626 flight for four tix, this appeared, “We’re sorry, the fare for that itinerary is no longer available. The fare for that trip is now $3,466.28” Originally $2504
lol they emailed me saying they couldn’t confirm ticket and canceled it 🙂
Dear Orbitz traveler,
We regret to inform you that, due to limited availability, the airline was not able to confirm the flights you requested. As a result, no tickets have been issued for this trip and we have reversed any credit card charges.
Situations like this are rare, but when they occur we attempt to contact our customers immediately so they won’t miss out on advance booking opportunities. To book a different flight, please visit Orbitz.com.
Our secure on-line booking system accesses fares and availability from the same central reservation systems that other travel agents and airline reservation agents are booking from worldwide. With the extensive volume of agents booking flights at any given time, availability for a particular flight can be gone in an instant. So when your ticketing request reached the airline, availability for the flight(s) you selected was no longer available.
The confirmation e-mail that you may have received is only an acknowledgement that the flights you selected for travel have been sent to the airline for approval prior to ticketing and does not guarantee ticket issuance.
We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to serving you in the near future.
Thanks for booking with Orbitz.
Sincerely,
The OrbitzTLC Team
Just booked from Dulles 11/25 to 12/15 @651.62.
Thank you.
Shows correct discount fare until you confirm and then jumps to a much higher price. In other words, DEAD.
My experience in Istanbul was not so great. I needed to re-kasher my travel silverware, and the airport did not have a mikvah to do so, nor could they direct me to one in the city.
@degania: why retoivel?
Did they break and a goy melted them back together.?
@degania: Oh yes, that is a terrible experience. An airport in Turkey without its own mikva??? How dreadful.
@degania: Oh, and FYI- you cant kasher keilim in a mikva.
Why oh why are there never any deals FROM Israel to the States?
On Wed May 15th I was able to book $651 tkts to TLV from JFK directly on Turkish Airlines website for the end of February-early March of 2014. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!
Unreal. Turkey hates us threatens us and were promoting cheap deals supporting their economy. Id pay double not to have to deal with a bunch of anti-semites . Anyone who considers this should be ashamed of themselves. I have a son in the IDF protecting the freedoms of Israel against these Jewish hating countries so we can travel and enjoy the country. I recently used DansDeals to fly to Israel for sons wedding using Italia. Very happy with service . Before you sell your soul for a cheap deal weight your options.
It’s available now for$788 in jan feb so it’s still cheap
Yes it’s still alive on late feb early mar you can book it by Turkish site so it’s not dead not dead
BTW, I did receive miles on ultra cheap ticket (w class) on 4/10,
as far as I know turkish does not award miles on cheap domestic flights but do on cheap international
