- Please proceed with extreme caution: While many of these deals look pretty sweet, please be aware that this is not your typical North American carrier!!!
- It is hard to speak to an agent that both speaks English and fully comprehends the TACA Distancia mileage program and its partner awards. Be prepared to try multiple times until you find someone competent!
- According to most of the representatives, mileage purchases expire 2 years from the date of purchase, unless you fly on a paid TACA ticket!
- Dansdeals.com will not be responsible for any problems with using purchased TACA Distancia miles, so please double-check all TACA policies before making a purchase!
TACA Airlines (aka Take A Chance Airlines) is selling miles this month for half off the normal 2.5 cents/mile rate.
Instead of $50 for 2,000 miles, it is just $25.
They are award partners with Iberia and United Airlines.
What is intriguing about this is there lucrative redemption chart.
You can fly anywhere within North America for just 25,000 miles in the low season (February, March, April, May, October, November) or 30,000 miles in the high season (January, June, July, August, September, December, and Easter season).
Sample low season travel rates when purchasing miles:
NYC-Maui, Hawaii: Via United: 25,000 miles (about $312)
NYC-Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Via United: 35,000 miles (about $437)
NYC-Australia: Via United: 75,000 miles (about $937)
LAX-Tel Aviv: Via Iberia: (TACA Low season usually includes Pesach/Sukkos holiday seasons!) 75,000 miles (about $937)

yes but you are forgetting fees.
Dan,
I am looking for a ticket to Vienna departing LAX from November 20-21, and leaving from Vienna either the 26th or the 27th of November.
Dan-have you been to Rio? Is it worth taking a vacation there or somewhere else in Brazil?
Just a thought if you have about 20,000 spg miles for 2 cards opened with them, and you purchase another 50,000 miles you would have enough to go to israel as well.
Do you know the transfer rate to Iberia??
dy:
which fees are you referring to?
mmg:
look for my guide to buying tickets in the knowledgebase.
rio:
Rio is a truly beautiful place-but so is iguasu falls and florinopolis. If you have the time, you can set up an amazing vacation in brazil. Buy the lonely planet brazil book from amazon for more info. Don’t forget that Americans need a visa in advance to go there!
anon:
20,000 spg miles turn into miles on LAN, not on TACA, so that would not combine.
Also which transfer rate to iberia are you referring to?
dan: i think dy is referring to local taxes.
could you spell out what the risks are and in what part of the process?
I am interested in buying 120,000 United Airlines miles. Please advise if you have that amount and how much it would cost? Further, upon the completion of the purchase, do you transfer the miles to my United Airlines Mileage account?
Thanks.
