dan can you tell us if your crossign your fingers for sukkos?
Seems unlikely, but there are free refunds.
We are trying to cancel flights we booked to Israel on American Airlines… we used chase points and our credit card. We want a refund not a travel credit. Any tips?
Can’t be done unless the flight is cancelled or delayed or has a schedule change.
If you don’t have an e-shure from the Israeli govt or the rules change invalidating one you already have, then they won’t let you on to the plane and you would then be refunded…
Dan, anyway to get chase points into delta miles?
Not really, but you can check the rates with Flying Blue or Virgin Atlantic.
(You could transfer via Marriott, but the ratio would be brutal).
I see flying blue has round trip for 24k points but plus some whopping $384.
Is there anyway to get around this?
Tia
24 rt to where?
How about some business class deals?!
190k r/t on delta is pretty good!
So I’m looking to book tickets to Europe for Succot. We have a two day old daughter. How fast do you y’all think we can get her birth certificate and SS #, apply for and receive her passport?
Also are the Delta points refundable back into my account if we need to cancel? With our without penalty?
Mazel tov!
If you apply now with expedite service, you should get it on time. Otherwise, you can try calling for an appointment.
Full refundable, no penalty.
Thanks Dan! I can apply for a passport without a SS # or a birth certificate?
Also I’m about 42,000 Delta miles short. I have UR, Bonvoy and Citi Thank You. No Amex unfortunately . What’s the quickest way of getting those 42,000 pts?
What are the cancellation / change t & c on these award bookings?
Dan,
I think that the 190k lie flat is only one way direct
if you want round trip direct it will be 210k

Does this mean free cancellations and changes. Will APPRECIATE your prompt reply thx and SHABBAT SHALOM and Chodesh TOV
Yes.
How much more legroom with comfort plus? Any other benefits?
Paid tickets are in the low 700’s on the dates I checked so you aren’t getting a very good deal. The only benefit is it’s fully refundable
32/34K Delta miles for $700s is excellent and refundable is a huge benefit these days.
My intention was you aren’t getting a good deal using miles as opposed to cash
Except you are. That’s an excellent value for Delta miles.
I wasn’t clear enough. I was referring to TLV tickets $713 vs 60k miles plus $51. On the Europe tickets it looks like it’s a better deal
Not a good enough deal to speculatively transfer miles, but if you already have them sitting in your account, the ability to book tickets and cancel them for no reason is a huge advantage, rates aside.
And with award tickets you get free suitcase. Approximately $120 value.
Are these tickets non cancellable? This is the verbiage on the tickets
Are they only changeable for a fee ? Can these be cancelled within the next 24 hours without penalty?
NON-REFUNDABLE / CHANGE FEE
When using certain vouchers to purchase tickets, remaining credits may not be refunded. Additional charges and/or credits may apply and are displayed in the sections below.
This ticket is non-refundable unless issued as a fully refundable fare. Any change to your itinerary may require payment of a change fee and increased fare. If you do not show up for any flight in your itinerary without notifying Delta or canceling/changing your flight prior to departure, Delta may cancel the reservation for all remaining flights in the itinerary, and the ticket will have no remaining value.
Standard language for all tickets. The post is correct.
I made a roundtrip ticket from TLV to JFK for 60,000 miles.
Are the refund rules the same in the other direction.
thanks
David
DAN, thank again! I booked 2 tix jfk-tlv for pesach but looks like wont fly then
