United is offering 20% off coach award tickets between the US49/Canada and Hawaii.
- The promotion is currently bookable on United.com.
- Travel must be booked by 12/8 at 11:59pm CST.
- Travel is valid between 1/7-3/10.
- Award travel on United from the US49/Canada to Hawaii is normally 45K miles round-trip. With this discount it will be 36K miles if both of your travel dates fall within the promotion dates or 40.5K miles if one date falls within the promotion and one date is not within the dates of the promotion.
- Travel only valid on United. Tickets with Hawaiian air segments will not be discounted, so be sure to book those segments separately if needed.
- United flies into Hilo (ITO), Honolulu (HNL), Kauai (LIH), Kona (KOA), and Maui (OGG).
- Travel only valid in coach.
- Valid on round-trip or on open-jaw (e.g. Newark-Kauai/Maui-Los Angeles) awards.
- Not valid on one-way awards.
- Not valid on stopover awards.
You can always book United awards to Hawaii for just 17.5K Singapore miles even way, however Singapore doesn’t have access to expanded award space available to United cardholders and elites.
Be sure you are logged into United.com if you are elite or if you have United cards like the Chase United Explorer card or the Chase United Club card as that gives you greatly expanded saver coach award space and last-seat standard award space in every class. It will only be reflected in the award calendar if you are logged in and you will only get free checked bags and priority boarding if you use that card.

Dan i know you explained excursionist perk and open jaw many many times before especially when you talk about Hawaii. But can you please explain more clearly and concisely what exactly these definition means? im struggling to understand this in your older posts and i am not dumb to say the least thank you very much
You can’t use an excursionist perk with this sale.
An example of using it would be Newark-Honolulu (Connection city)-Maui (Destination stay 1 week)-Hilo (Perk)-Honolulu (Connection city)-Newark. That would be the same 45K miles as Newark-Honolulu-Newark
Or Newark-Paris (Destination)-Vienna (Perk)-Newark. That would be the same 60K miles as Newark-Paris-Newark
thank you but how do you work that out when your on the united website? or is this excurcionist only bookable over the phone/ i just know elementary search techniques and what is an open jaw?
when booking United awards to Hawaii for just 35K Singapore miles RT, can you do the extra stopover at no extra charge? Meaning go from ORD-OGG (for 1 week), then go from OGG-ITO/KOA (for 3 days), and then return to ORD. When booking on United using United miles, that’s doable.
Singapore isn’t partners with Hawaiian.
This is so not worth it, unless you have United miles to burn, since you can get a round trip FIRST CLASS ticket on Delta with 45k Korean miles.
Delta first class saver? Go buy a Powerball the day you’re able to book that award…
how about 60k first class rt on Hawaiian Airlines, is that also ” sweet dreams” or do they have better availability?
AHHHH!!!!! was hoping to convert 84k SPG points into 7 day Marriot stay + United miles, but just found out that there are no category 4 or 5 in Hawaii. The lowest being a category 6 on Kaui.
what shall i do? please help.
