Currently there are tickets from Boston to Tel Aviv via JFK or Newark for $554. That’s $226 less than a nonstop from JFK or Newark.
If you book a multi-destination trip going from JFK or EWR to Tel Aviv and then returning from Tel Aviv to Boston you will split the different between the fares of both cities. Which in this case means you’ll pay $690 instead of $820. Just use the multi-city fare search on a site like Priceline. Tickets purchased from Priceline today are refundable until 11:29pm tomorrow night. Please see this post for directions on how to cancel these tickets.
Although your bag will be tagged to Boston, all bags will be picked up in NYC. Federal law requires that you bring your bags past customs yourself and can recheck your bags to Boston, though nobody will force you to recheck them.
I searched for multi-city tickets from Newark to Tel Aviv and returning from Tel Aviv to Boston. That pulled up $690 tickets on many dates. Some sample dates on United include:
Newark to Tel Aviv departure dates:
December 29, 30, 31
January 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31
February 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 20, 21, 24
Tel Aviv to Boston (via Newark) return dates:
January 27
February 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 24, 29
March 1
Nobody will force you to take the final leg to Boston and all luggage must be claimed in JFK or Newark.

Sample Delta itinerary:
This is called hidden city ticketing, and of course the airlines don’t love that. And airline reps will probably lie to you and say that your bags will go straight to Boston even though they will not. They will be tagged to Boston, but everyone has to pick them up in Newark or JFK.
The airline can decide not to give miles for your trip. It’s probably a good idea to credit the miles to another airline. I don’t suggest anyone do this every month, but tons of people save money by buying tickets with hidden city ticketing every day without problems.
You can read this post for more on how to utilize hidden city ticketing.

I’ve had United not give me miles
I always wondered what would happen if you had a connection and you just never showed.
Don’t the airlines become suspicious if you take your bags and leave in NY when you’re ticket says you’re going to Boston?
Dan, would this work for pesach?
Are there any pesach flights available with this?
r u sure that i can get my bag at jfk
Does not work for March

bella, how did you do it? i cant figure it out
You could try setting the flight from ny to bos for the next day, this way for sure you’ll get your luggage and wont be marked for bos since you’ll have at least a day in ny – hey they cant blame you for not getting back in time 🙂
Will this work for mid June ?
My mother booked last week EWR-TLV-EWR-IAH for $729

why cant everyone just read the whole post… and Dan isnt your personal travel agent. dont be lazy and check dates yourself. dan is helping with information. doesnt mean you can hold him liable… follow rules and for those asking about other availability, just check different dates… it takes not more than 3 minutes as the link provide takes you right to a booking site… come on…
sorry for my rude comment
I will be able to assist all of you
@yitzi or u can try setting up the nyc bos from another airport like lga so u most go out or if u land in ewr just select jfk for the other leg
@yankel:
Dan is making heavy commissions for every purchase made through a link in this website,
No one is holding him liable, but he is the expert.
@Smellyfart:
The commission on a airplane ticket is a heavy couple of bucks per ticket.
@Smellyfart: i doubt priceline is paying commissions but then again, i may be wrong. usually, dan discloses that some advertisers pay like american express etc… generally for credit card referrals… from my limited knowledge, priceline/orbitz and the likes dont…
and no, that wasnt me apologizing. i stand by my earlier comment. instead of everyone commenting, take a minute and dont be lazy… and dont ask if dan can find you a cheap ticket to london in a post about israel… or to/from vancouver… read the post and learn how to be self reliant…
k, whoever can answer this, will be greatly appreciated.
Ive got tons of points with delta/united. how can i use them for this? can you ‘apply’ them to priceline?
if u dont know, where can i look to find out?
literally anything you can say to help will be appreciated ill keep checking back. thank you guys!:)
first of all its avail on united.com
this has nothing to do with points, sell ur points and buy tickets
in general its only worth it to use points for business/first
@sam: worth it too if u have no money…:/
thanks for your reply though
🙂
Even than its way more worth it to sell your miles and buy tickets.
Example: a round trip ticket on United is 85k if u sell that for the going rate of 1.5 a mile u get $1275
And buy yourself a direct ticket from 690
Plus u don’t have to search for award dates that are Just about never available direct
Plus u get more mileage ( when u use miles u don’t get any mileage)
@abe mash: any advice?
