For 1.5 chase points with a sapphire card, do you reimburse the cost after the charge or is there something you have to do before, when booking?

Readers should know that if an issue develops, Chase/Amex isn’t as good as handling an issue vs if you booked direct with United ie if your flight in canceled or has issues. If you book direct with United, you’ll have to move Chase points to UA. Just my 2 sheckles.
Moving Chase points won’t help with cash fares like these. The award fares don’t seem to be on sale.
