AMEXTravel offers discounts on premium tickets from select airlines for cardholders of The Business Platinum Card®, The Platinum Card® from American Express, and Centurion cards.
A reader sent in that El Al has been added to that program, with discounts on business class tickets.
The discounts vary by fare class, but range from $300-$500 off a round-trip business class ticket from the US to Israel. You’ll also earn 5 points per dollar on the Platinum cards.
On the Business Platinum Card you’ll also get a 35% rebate if you redeem points, so a round-trip JFK-TLV business class ticket that costs $5,523 from El Al can be booked for 338,356 points after the rebate, a value of 1.63 cents per point compared to the price from El Al.
Or a round-trip Boston-Tel Aviv business class ticket that costs $5,022 from El Al can be booked for 308,131 points after the rebate, a value of 1.63 cents per point compared to the price from El Al.
Those rates are higher than spending say, 300K Virgin points for a round-trip business class flight on El Al, but you aren’t limited to dates with saver business class award space, plus you’ll earn miles and elite status as these are paid flights. For example, a round-trip JFK-TLV Z class flight would earn 11,355 Delta miles, 14,193 Virgin or Flying Blue miles, 14,250 Qantas points, 14,762 Etihad miles, or more if you have elite status.
This only appears to work for round-trip business class flights departing from the US to Israel.

For most airlines that participate, they also discount premium economy. Sometimes not all tickets, so it could be it depends on fare class.
It is indeed 120 dollars cheaper in premium economy on the dates I checked.
if i book and call elal to add the voucher for $29. When I cancel, will the voucher be for the full fare before their discount?
