United has a great $2,957 business class fare for their nonstop flight from Newark to Tel Aviv. It is only valid when originating in the US.
You will earn 14,340 redeemable United miles and 22,768 United elite qualifying miles for the round-trip flight. Alternatively you can credit this P class flight to Air Canada to earn 22,768 Aeroplan miles.
United flights 84/85 feature the ex-Continental 2-2-2 business class seats on the 772. These seats are definitely less claustrophobic feeling than the newer seats, but they also aren’t as private and don’t feature all-aisle access.
United red-eye flights 90/91 feature the new Polaris 1-2-1 business class seats on the 77W. These seats are more claustrophobic than the older seats, but offer more privacy and feature all-aisle access.
On the 77W you can choose from solo seats or seats for people traveling together.
Both planes include United’s Polaris business class service with Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and pillows. Savvy travelers will also request a Saks Fifth Avenue mattress pad, gel cooled pillow, slippers, and pajamas, as those are not proactively offered by flight attendants as there aren’t enough of them for everyone.
United’s new Polaris lounge in Newark features kosher food and wine upon request and offer private rooms with daybeds and luxurious shower rooms. I reviewed the Chicago Polaris lounge here.
If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® card you can redeem 197,141 points for this round-trip ticket and you’ll earn back 14,340 United miles or 22,768 Aeroplan miles. Click Here to get more details on this cards and compare to other cards!

Dan – Any guesses when Chicago will finally get a Tel Aviv direct flight again? You’ve been talking about it for a while, but still nothing.
How many MR do I need to book this?
295712 MR and with the Business Platinum Card it would end costing you only 192213 MR which is really cheaper than using UR. LY might be also a little less than that however you have to shell out the YQ and although they are using the 787 the product is not really comparable
dan please tell us about your plan c you wuld not pay 3k for a business class seat even if it is a good deal
Kosher food in EWR Polaris? From my understanding it’s not too consistent did something change?
Yes, curious about this as well. How does one go about requesting this? Does it need to be done in advance? Is it available for *A guests as well or only UA pax?
How does one access the polaris lounge. Just being on business class ticket paid or award?
Just by being on business class you get to have lounge access
That is correct
whats the change/cancellation policy after 24 hours?
Hello Dan, I flew United Polaris to Zurich and used polaris business lounge. There was no kosher food at all and no paper/ plastic plates/cups, also wine was non-mevushal. I saw a post mentioning kosher food there. How can it be requested? Thanks
i flew three time business on UA to TLV this summer there was no kosher food at the new Polaris lounge in EWR can we please get more details about it specially when we get delayed 3 to four hours it would be helpful or like when i took my ticket a couple hours before flying knowing that there will be no ksml for me on board as it was less than 24h before take off and regardless of my premier status etc…
thanks for your thorough and terrific job Dan
I am at the Polaris Lounge right now in Newark. There is NO Kosher frozen meals etc. When I requested Kosher snacks, I was brought a tray with pretzels and chips for me to select from. That’s all!
