El Al suspended commercial passenger operations in late March and they closed down their call centers.
However they recently put a single flight leg up for sale this month, nonstop from Miami to Tel Aviv on April 30th.
The flight won’t come cheap. You can buy a one-way seat in coach for $830, in premium economy for $1,388, or in business class for $2,743.
You’ll have to be an Israeli citizen or resident or have special permission from Israel in order to fly. You will have a mandatory 2 week quarantine upon arrival in Israel.
The next El Al flight from Miami to Tel Aviv isn’t scheduled until May 31st.
It’s unclear why El Al isn’t selling the leg from Tel Aviv to Miami. Perhaps it’s being chartered from Tel Aviv to Miami? Share in the comments if you know more.
Will you book travel on this flight?

For some some sort of charter (probably cargo) on the outbound. Elal is bringing stuff from china to the US. They were in Detroit and chicago on apr 12.
Right, lots of El Al cargo flights operating.
But why not sell TLV-MIA even if it has cargo?
They put boxes of PPE on the seats in the cabin, so no seats for sale. There’s plenty of videos of that.
Aren’t those on flights going to TLV?
The same cargo goes straight to miami.
Just watch flight tracker, I’m sure we’ll see the plane go China-tlv-Miami with only a couple hours in TLV
Kayak is showing elal availability Sunday April 26 for $708 in coach ewr-tlv
It’s fake.
You tell them Dan! Fake News! lol
And United also
They fly every day.
Primary for Cargo purposes. Since AA chucked the PHL flight, TEVA had to move their cargo somewhere.
Newark. Not Miami.
Maybe they have a plane in Miami that they want to move to Tel Aviv?
Unlikely.
That’s been sitting there for the past month???
Flight aware 24 shows an ly flight 11 jfk-tlv and flight 12 tlv jfk having flown on 4/22 and 4/23 respectively. Are those cargo flights using regular flight numbers?
Cargo.
Hey @dan whats my best option to get back to israel from ny asap if im israeli?
UA90 at 4:25 today
United EWR-TLV.
Any chance a Canadian in Toronto can get on that flight considering that the border bet US and Canada is closed?
Didn’t you answer your own question?
Border is closed…
“ You’ll have to be an Israeli citizen or resident ”
What do I need to get back as a resident
Contact your local Israeli embassy/consulate for authorization papers.
It’s not so simple that non-citizen residents are granted entry.

Repatriatoin flight?
The problem with United is they don’t allow kids under 16 to travel alone internationally. So, many of us are anxiously awaiting word that we can get our kids home for summer the minute the school year ends.
El Al is being hired to transport cargo to and from destinations that actually don’t involve Israel at all. For example, the El Al flight mentioned to Detroit was chartered to bring PPE from China to Detroit as other carriers did not have capacity.
The upcoming flight from MIA – TLV could be a way to add revenue for the return trip back to Israel after a similar cargo mission that did not originate in Israel.
Great find, Israel’s Ministry of the Exterior (משרד החוץ) put it up on their website as a flight today.
They are now selling seats on flight LY 14-JFK-TLV- on May 4
