I also have the same issue. bought 2 days ago.
I just cancelled my ticket for a voucher.
I should receive a voucher within 4 days. they said. and then I can rebook with the discount ed price. Or, for $7 you can lock in your price and ticket for 48 hours, so hopefully you’ll receive your voucher by email by then. if not, just buy a new ticket on sale, and leave the voucher credit for next time. it only expires in 1 year.

Dan, I just booked a flight 1 way with el al and 1 way with delta and i think i got a cool trick to save over 700$.
On my delta flight back, it said only 1 first class ticket left at their price. But i needed 2 so i opened up priceline in 1 browser and delta on another browser and booked the flight on each at the same time and both went through at the lower price!!

I have 114k Capital One points, and 90k Citi Thank You points. I am trying to buy a business ticket on El Al direct from NY to TLV, January 18-28. Is there any way I can redeem my points for that business ticket? If not, do you have any suggestions how I can rack up points for it?

Just to be clear, if I want to fly in August, can I book some dates now and then cancel for a voucher to be used then?
Or is the voucher just for the cash value, and I’ll have to pay the difference then? If so, what’s stopping people from just finding the cheapest current deal and reusing the vouchers during the more expensive months?

Is the United or El Al frequent flyer program better for upgrades if you are flying 4-5 times per year to Israel? I am a platinum member on United but have no status on El Al.
